My sister recommended Paul, so I DVRd it and watched it this evening. It was pretty funny, and I need to watch it again to see what SF references I missed. It is about an alien who is trying to get home. Yes there are ET references, but many others, also.

Paul is a wise-cracking alien who has special powers. He has help from some British SF and comic fans.

I enjoyed Paul a lot. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are always funny together. I don't think Paul is as peeyourpants funny as Hot Fuzz or Shawn of the Dead, but it's an entertaining movie. I'd recommend it.

Blythe Danner is still a beauty. Just sayin'.

I haven't see either Hot Fuzz or Shawn- I don't like horror, are these mainly funny?

Shawn of the Dead is a zombie spoof. Hot Fuzz is a police spoof.

And both are hilarious.

I did see it. I thought it was good, but Super Troopers edges it out on my list of cop comedies.
