Well, I shouldn't say that. I'm in the process of churning out seven freelance articles for two magazines this week. Plus two press releases. But I find myself looking at that little Work-in-Progress folder on "My Desktop" and feeling dreadfully guilty that it's been WEEKS since I opened it up and really worked on it. So what are your writing habits? How and when do you make time in your schedules for writing? Do you feel like you're missing out on life to fit it in? Thoughts and opinions welcomed. Personally, I think we just need to invent about three more hours every day.

I suck at hunt-and-peck, so it takes me awhile to do anything that way, and if I DON'T, then I have to keep popping painmeds.
I too feel guilty when I can't spend nearly enough time writing. With all the things going on with me lately it's been difficult to set that time aside. Juggling work, the building of a new house, and a move have recently crushed my writing time. I'm more inclined to say that I've been missing out on writing because of life lately. For the longest time I've had a steady schedule and place to write but with life getting in the way I've neglected my duties as a writer until I can get settled in a place where I am most comfortable. When life doesn't get in the way though my schedule is like this: Get up and go to work from 7 am to 1:30 pm. Get home just in time to get the munchkin off the school bus. Put the Disney Channel on for him and sit at my desk with either a stack of papers or the PC and write or edit for a few hours. Sometimes though the beach is the best place for me to write and I can't wait to have my Egyptian style garden with a little gazebo (preferably a temple style gazebo with white lotus columns, but my hubby wouldn't enjoy that!) in my backyard surrounded by a lush landscape where I can escape reality and concentrate on my real job--writing. Also if I spent less time online and more time writing I think I'd get a lot more done. But I like chatting with my fellow authors too much to nix my internet time. Lynn

Well, I did write two pages or so in Princess of Fire's pink furry book, but she erased that after getting proof that our writing is different enough in her book. Although I still disagree that I put in some sort of romantic subtext in there!
I write on my stories on my computer mostly on Fridays and the Weekend, although I too feel guilty for not making enough time for it. I have started a project that appears that it will be novel-length, good practice for what I have cooked up, and write in it on all of those down-times at school. And, on this, I HAVE been getting a lot of good work done. I estimate that I've written over 4500 words in the story, approximately 322 words per page. I also post here and on other forums a lot. And most of my writing is devoted to that.
I usually fit my writng in on a teachers boring lecture. i prefer handwriting before typing, it makes a good disguise in note taking time.
