I am currently writing a novel in first person. However, since the story is bigger then the character(as most stories usually are) I dont want just my character's viewpoint I want to incorperate more. My problem is that I think it'll sound wrong to write it in first person. Is it ok to write the other characters in third person or does this not only screw up the writing but the purpose of first person as well?

Well, you could write other characters in the third person. But I would highly caution you against it.

My siggestion is either switch perspectives during chapters between characters while still in first person or write in the third person. Choose one.

I'm more partial to the first idea myself. You've already gotten on in writing in the first person and are more likely then not used to it. You also seem to have a passion for it. You don't find too many books written in the first person, let alone through multiple characters. I think it would be a refreshing and interesting way to go about it.

Good luck!

Write it in the past tense when you have to explain something. "By the time we were making our way towards SkullMountSuperFortress, General Lo Maye blah blah blah." •••• like that.
