So all this talk of Soylent Green has given me a strange idea. Kinda dark and morbid, and it has probably been done before.

So mankind has mastered space travel and gone exploring in the galaxy. Has encountered strange aliens and cultures, and has begun to really grow. Then through some accident, perhaps, it turns out that humans taste pretty darn good. What do you know? Suddenly everyone wants to eat us. Swamps of civilizations converge onto Earth, with the intent of harvesting us. We're outnumbered, endangered, and viewed as a tasty snack rather than a lifeform.

That's kind of funny, but I think the idea may already have been explored a little by Peter Jackson in "Bad Taste." It's about aliens who are trying to harvest humans to serve as meals in fast food restaurants.

Nice. Go Peter Jackson. Reminds me of the episode of "Teen Titans" where aliens were serving themselves as hamburgers at the "Mega Meaty Meat" restaurant. The reason? To get in the insides of humans and take them over. Strange but amusing.

This actually reminds me of one of the greatest episodes of The Twilight Zone ever written, "To Serve Man".

Aliens come to a bisbegotten Earth. They profess to show humanity a better way, and accidently leave behind a book. It's given to two decoders who mannage to translate the title to To Serve Man.

The aliens do as they promise. The end wars and world hunger. People even start to go to the alien's world for a better life. The chief decoder decides to go. But, before he get's on the space ship, his assist runs up to him screaming:

"NO! Don't go! "Top Serve Man"... It's a cook book!"
