OK, so here's another idea. The Evil General takes control of the throne. He drags the king up on the battlements and orders him to renounce his title. The mass of people of the kingdom, gathered down below, look up in horror, disgust, and anger. The king refuses, so the general kills him. Then the general announces to the people that he is the new king, and that they will do well to obey him. The people, not too happy on hearing this, grab the nearest pitchfork and torch and march upon the castle. The mob storms the palace, kill all those loyal to the general, and even though the general attempts to get away he is eventually caught, cornered, and killed the like the dog he is.

That's just an idea, I dunno if it works with what you're trying to do. In this scenario the mob are the good guys. The king isn't evil and is killed doing what he feels is necessary. The general comes off as being evil, or at least a would be tyrant, and is killed in the process of trying to usurp the throne.

Read the backstory to the first Diablo game. It has something along similer lines, although still quite different.

Why would a nation be angry at their leader because of the death/destruction he wreaked on another nation? Especially during the dark ages.

How about the citizens freeing political prisoners?

That's good to here. It's always a pleasure scratching the back of a fellow writer, or simply human being, for that matter.

...

As a matter of fact, it doesn't necessarily have to be human. I do it for my dog all the time.

LOL

LOL

"My pleasure" He says, passing a smalled tray of carefully laid out raows of alternating colors; blue, red and green. "This will give you that high you want. Take a snort, would ya?" And he passed him a small silver tube, hollow; obvious for snorting the pixi sticks.

In High School some of my buddies buddies (I have a weird friendship system) ground up and snorted an entire pack of skittles. He said he had multicolored boogers. Good stuff.

Skittles is going a tad too far, in my opinion. What kind of high were they looking for? I'm not so sure that it was suger, by the way you describe it.

Must have been searching for that ever elusive Rainbow high.

Either that or they were trying to "Taste the Rainbow"

Reminds me of that game that came out for the GameCube, Darkened Skye... which was an interesting game to play, had the best written dialog EVER for a game, and strangely enough was about finding magic Skittles (literally).

Personally I hate Gamecube, no offense intended. To me Nintendo retired after reaping the success that is/was N64, Super Nintendo, Nintendo and the various Gameboys.

What was the game about, though. I'm rather interested.

No offense taken. I'm a happy and loyal Nintendo fan to this day. Nintendo deals in quality rather than quality, which seems to be the way that Sony and Microsoft seem to go. In my old age I'm more picky with what I buy, so quality all the way.

Now, this game is so cliché is most details. However, that's the fun and point of the game. Many times does the female lead character stop and question the actions of the game player. There's the trusty demon sidekick, the mysterious villain, and the strange magic system which relies on "linking" up the magic Skittles.

The dialog is merely the best, and the game won numerous awards for unique dialog and great voice over acting. The woman who did the acting for the lead character (her name escapes me right now) fit the part and the sarcasim perfectly. The game controls are awful but thankfully you can save and restart anywhere you want making death not that big of a deal.

"Nintendo deals in quality rather than quality..."

Do you meen quantity? LOL

I'm a loyal fan of Nintendo as well, notwithstanding Gamecube. All of my favorite console games are Nintendo manufactured. I astually very rarely find non-Nintendo console games worth their salt or metal.

But the game you describe sounds interesting. It might be worthwhile to further investigate it.

But if you like good dialogue then you should play the Baldur's Gate series on PC. Minsc is the funniest NPC character ever. He's a barbarian who has a sidekick named Boo. Boo is described as his "miniature giant space hamster and more intelligent mentor". They have so much fun with character interactions in that game, especially concerning Minsc and Boo with the other characters, its hillarious. I highly recommend this AD&D game to all.

I agree on the Nintendo thing. The only exception for me was Saga Genesis -- I looooooved that Sonic 2 game! I was addicted to it!

Yes, yes... quality rather than quantity. Slip of the keyboard I guess.

While the other two consoles deal in shoving out quantity titles that can't hold their own or even merit a play, I can safely say that there are some decent games as well. Though these games are put out by veteran companies or by new companies who actually take the time to make a great game. I for one was not one of those guys who played the "Britney's Dance Beat" game.

* shudder *
