Or it could just be a really strange thing you wrote or got an idea for. You don't even need to hve written it, just the idea. Mine is a story idea I have. It's a satiric story about a girl who changes her gay brother into a girl by using manthrax, He then goes to school pretending to be a new student and starts dating a strait guy. Comedic gender situations and other comedic situations ensue. (S)He marries him and he is never the wiser. Funny, no? Strange, no? How about the rest of you? What's yours?
-Standing upside-down on your head while yodeling -Scratching your belly while trying to sneeze -Trying to. talk. like. Bill. Shatner. while using the toilet -Patting yourself on the bum while singing the national anthem -While taking a relaxing bubble bath, listening to AC-DC and Led Zeppelin -Marching like an Irish soldier, while wearing your Bugs Bunny underclothes. ..or were you serious? (Clearing throat.) Well, I've had many dreams that have gone into the epic fantasy novel I've been working on. I do that a lot. Things that come to me while listening to music, or going hiking through the woods. I also get inspired by looking through past ideas of mine and improving or developing them.

I lied." *Splat* On another note, are you experiencing writer's block, Magus? You've been posting a bit about inspiration lately.

I was just curious about other people. I thought that this would be a fun and interesting topic. (Last three ideas, by the way, were inspired by the little info on the back of the book Bag of Bones, some movie with a witch doctor and some show I happened to flip to when I turned the tv on last nioght (maybe Teen Titans, maybe something else, I forget).
I had a strange dream once... Very dark... That's about it.

Well, unfortunately, I forgot about it after I woke up and figured I'd work it out later... but then I didn't remember it until two nights later. So I don't remember exactly what was going on... I just got bits of it. I was dreaming about two books that I hadn't (still haven't) read yet, and the character was based on the cover picture of The Redemption of Althalus. He was running along a balcony and then down some stairs into a room. I just remember the idea of him doing something terrible and a feeling of pity for him because something had happened to his family when he was just a boy. I wrote a few pages based on this dream, and then I decided that it wasn't going anywhere... but I'm still glad that I wrote it. And eventually I incorporated the whole idea into the novel I'm working on now.

The moment I woke I jotted down the premise before I forgot the entire thing... it was along the lines of a psychological horror/thriller type deal. It was cool since, like all my nightmare style dreams, I ended up being some kind of super hero, even though I was just an observer in this dream to start. Anyway, the strangest venue of inspiration for me would be the way I was accosted by demons when I was but a wee boy. Those days still inspire me and led me to where I am today. From intrest in real magic, olde cultures/religions and similarities between them. From the days of Cain to Nimrod to the followers of the Mitreas of today. Real Fantasy. Real prophesy... all from the days I refused to sleep for weeks at a time until I learned to protect myself.
I got a friend with temporary amnesia and i thought of a story idea based on amnesia because of her. Kinda a honoring of her I think.
