Scifi and Fantasy Forum: Writer's Discussion: Problems with Writing:
Just plain ideas, ideas, ideas.... and now a block
Just plain ideas, ideas, ideas.... and now a blockWe have moved to new forum software and posting here is closed!
I wrote only one story, and it was a work for my final year exam in high school. I have about a million ideas, write them down, and then start to develop. And after a few pages I just let it go. How to make yourself go on? I know it's a dumb question, but is there any way do throw out all the characters circuling in the head?
You discribe the same symptoms I have, I got bullheaded, and decided I would pick ONE story and write only about it.
I started with one one idea and stuck with it for over seven. I am still working on it hard and I still have a long way to go.
Going on one decade for my Takara idea. It's evolved as my writing has.
Evolution is something that needs to happen with all writers. It's just important not to lose your style as you change, or at least to only tweak your style (unless you can come up with something that just works better for you all around.
I'm sorry, we're not allowed to use that insideous word here in Georgia anymore. From now on, please change all references to evolution to read "biological changes over time." Perhaps Bmat could go through the site and change them
I'm on it.
Okay, then, how about EVIL-LUTION?
Hmm - perhaps that would be a good name for the proposed changes to our curriculum....
*Aldan grins so hugely that the top of his head falls over backwards*
Wow, what an odd biological change over time that is.
