XENOGEARS
XENOGEARSWe have moved to new forum software and posting here is closed!
I know its not a gaming forum, but I was just wondering if anyone out there has played Xenogears for the PS1. It's one of the bestRPGs that Square made, anyways, I ask only because one of the main themes of the story was the fact that the whole race had only started as a result of a gigantic spaceship landing on an iscolated planet and from the sole survivor came all life on Earth. From this, it is learned that God did not create them all, and this is what I was getting at, In my story I'm writing there is a practiced monotheistic religion and they are ultimately worshiping a god that destroyed the true creator of the universe. I was just wondering a few things about this idea:1) How should I present this in the story to make it seem totally unexpected? and 2) How not to make it seem too much like I'm condemnig all religion. If anyone has suggestions, please write,
I've played Xenogears and I agree with you. It was excellent. Hmmmmm. . . Have you considered having the religion teach of an "evil" being that tryed to "destroy" mankind. The "evil being" could be the true creator. As your story goes on perhaps there could be a forbidden cave or ancient ruin where there are writings on the truth. Perhaps even some essence of the true creator could have survived and somehow that essence reveals the truth to someone. Just a few random thoughts.
Actually I had a similar idea about revealing the truth through hidden texts. And I was thinking about teaching of an evil being, so it would be a God and Satan type switch. Thanks for the input.
This premise does not rule out that the god may have influenced the event which resulted in this cosmic castaway. This god may even have inspired the development of terestrial life.
Man, I cna't believe I never noticed this thread!
Surprise surprise. Look at who ressurected this topic. I should have known it was you.
