“I want to know of my origin. Where am I truly from? I was told by Master Jhoric, that I was found on the eastern shore of Nor and was brought here as a baby.” The comma is unnecessary. Also, consider revising for active voice. e.g.: Master Jhoric told me that... "My name is Nivad Heru, at one point in time I was alone on this world." Use a stronger mark than a comma here. A semicolon or a period would work better. "The martial art of Wei-Shao teaches you, to use the elements of life instead of your body as weapons" unnecessary comma. Maybe substitute "to wield" for "to use." Actually, you have an abundance of misplaced commas. My suggestion is to read this story out loud and read it EXACTLY as it's written. When you come to a comma, treat it like a period and take a new breath. You will see how the overuse of commas makes the prose clunky. It seems pretty good aside from that. If you want to improve your grasp of grammar and sentence construction you should buy a copy of Strunk and White's Elements of Style. Every writer should own this book anyways, and most of us should read it on a monthly basis. Another good book about writing is John Gardner's The Art of Fiction, which deals with plotting and themes, as well as literary techniques that enhance mood and character. Keep writing though. As far as writing's concerned, the worst thing you can do is stop.

I also have a habit of over-using commas. I load the comma cannon with grapeshot and fire away. But then on the re-write I hate myself for it. Try the reading out loud thing though, seriously. It helps a lot.
