Posted By: Jdogg Dec 15, 2004 - 11:07 am | | For the different genres I listen to: General - Ini Kamoze Reggae Gin 'n' Juice - Snoop Hip Hop Comfortably Numb - Floyd Rock Ruffneck - Freestylers Breaks Although General wins hands down
heres another great song, tho a little crude. i couldnt believe it when my friends hadnt heard it before: Nasty Girl:Nitty oh! and if you want an awesome song (winkwink) go to launch and type in rich girl by gwen stefani! (mmmmwwwahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaa!!!)
hahaha really awesome song, but dangerous if you know the dance that goes along with it. Watch fiddler on the roof if you're really bored and/or insane and actually want to know what i'm talking about one more addition to my list: "Volcano" by damien rice it's a really simple acoustic deal, and i love it. damien appears alongside the indigo girls,u2, and a bunch of other people on "for the lady" a cd compilation dedicated to the freedom of (sorry, i can't spell this) An Sung Su Yee(yeah, i butchered it)she was elected president of Burma with like an 85% vote, and the old government didn't like that, so they placed her under house arrest in the 90s and she's still there. she won the nobel peace prize for trying to bring democracy, better education, and all around reform to Burma, and doesn't deserve to be imprisoned, so go pick up the cd. im not entirely sure how the proceeds benefit her, so you might want to do a bit more research than i did ok, rambling done...for now! MWAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!

ok, i know i listed green day's "time of your life" in the first posting, but im listening to it right now for like the 80 millionth time, and i have to say, this song is awesome... ~*starts singing off key*~ "another turning point, a fork stuck in the road, time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go, so make the best of this test and don't ask why, it's not an answer but an answer learned in time, it's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right, i hope you had the time of your life,so take the photographs and still frames in your mind, hang it on a shelf in good health and good time, tattoos and memories and dead skin on trial, for what it's worth, it was worth all the while, it's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right, i hope you had the time of your life..." a lot of people (like my dad) say that green day sold out when they made this song, but i love it.(can you tell i'm very bored?) sorry if this is kind of long... ~*clicks the preview message button, still singing very loudly and off key*~
Posted By: redshift Dec 17, 2004 - 06:29 am | | The funny thing (and yeah, I actually double checked this one) is that the song is about Green Day deciding to change, instead of remaining a part of the indie punk scene. For a while, they were pretty conflicted about it. A lot of their fans were pissed off, and for a few years they tried to "prove" they were still Green Day. After a while they realized that a lot of their old fans were gone for good, so they wrote that song to say goodbye - thanks for the memories, all the crap was worth it. I think they performed it acoustically just to underscore their point.
wow, that's awesome!
I love Green day! im addicted to "boulevard of broken dreams." seriously, i listen to it like, 50 times a week. *sings it really loudly and wavering in and out of key.*
i like jesus of suburbia better myself...
Posted By: Magus Dec 19, 2004 - 09:13 am | | I can't believe I didn't think of this before! "Happy Christmas (War is Over)" John Lennin
Posted By: Magus Dec 19, 2004 - 09:14 am | | OH! And... All we are Saying is Give Peace a Chance by: John Lennin
Posted By: Aldan Dec 19, 2004 - 04:53 pm | | Lennon. Please spell Beatle names correctly! My mother would come and kill you if she found out!!
wasn't lennin that russian guy? sorry, im not very good at history! anyway, i was listening to the radio, and this song came on(they tend to do that) and it was "collide" by Howie Day. i have no clue who this guy is, but i love the song! (look out, im fixing to sing again!) "and even the best fall down sometimes/even the wrong words seem to rhyme/and out of the doubt that fills our minds/we somehow find/that you and i collide" its very pretty(and kind of really sappy), but not the kind i usually listen to. oh well, its a good song...merry christmas and happy holidays!
Posted By: manji Dec 25, 2004 - 06:23 am | | "Sweet Child O' Mine" Guns N' Roses "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana "I Will Remember You" by Sarah Mclachlan ( because i know fiery red LOVES sarah mclachlan lol. and it's a good song) "Bark At The Moon" by Ozzy Osbourne "You Shook Me All Night Long" by AC/DC "Good Riddance/Time of Your Life" by Green Day Good taste there, Fallen. Personally, i like 'Walking Alone' better than Good Riddance. Good harmonica. "Nimrod" was my High School soundtrack. Great album. I just got American Idiot earlier today. Really good. Oh, and Patience kicks sweet child o' mine's arse any day. But lets not forget Sublime. It's a tie between April 26th, 1992; Loving is what i got; and Two Joints. Two joints is either Marley or Sublime, but either way it's a great song.
patience? isn't that the one with a six minute whistling solo at the beginning? yeah, right, sweet child o' mine forever!! american idiot is awesome, and so is marley. has anybody on here heard of the donnas? they rock.
Posted By: Magus Dec 28, 2004 - 09:16 am | | Billy Joel had a song called "Stranger" or something like that where there was a wistling solo at the beginning and at the end.
Posted By: woody000 Dec 28, 2004 - 11:26 am | | Well if I mention one, ill have to mention them all and that could take weeks. =p Im a musician so I like all music except most pop and dance. At the moment I'm listening mostly to classical music; piano and opera, and rock; things like Black Sabbath, Led Zepplin, Queen, Metallica.
THE DONNAS TOTALLY ROCK!!!!! ok, i may be taking a total risk with my sanity here but i really like songs by bb king and ray charles. "georgia on my mind" ok, and i love we are the waiting by greenday. "are we we are are we we are are we we are the waiting unknown...."
"you cut me then you blame me for bleeding, you won't see me begging and pleading, it's so easy to talk about me when i'm not around to say,i may not be a man, but you're not one either, it takes one to know one (takes one to know one) who's calling names, and pointing fingers? it takes one to know one it's age before beauty, and you've got neither, it takes one to know one, just because we're face to face doesn't mean that we're eye to eye..." the donnas are awesome. so is sabbath, loving your taste in music, woody000! pop is evil. ray charles rocks (not literally, but you get the point)
Posted By: Magus Dec 30, 2004 - 07:59 pm | | That kind of sounds like "She's Always a Woman to Me" by: Billy Joel "...She will promise you more then the Garden of Edan. Then she'll carelessly cut you and laugh while your bleeding. But she'll bring out the best and the worst you can be. Blame it all on yourself 'cause she's always a woman to me..."
angry music...yay!!!
