The Vril thing is one of those nutty conspiracies. A secret bunch who run the world and were behind Hitler, or something like that. Whacky stuff.

You know, this reminds me of a story I heard some time ago. A few years ago, I used to support the website for a local Paranormal group here in South Shields, and for a while, it became quite popular (in England), We had seminars from the Centre for Fortean Zoology about the Chupacabra(spelling?), as well as other monsters. People from around the country would send stories, photographs, and would even turn up at the weekly meetings. The members were into all manner of wierd stuff from Ufo's to ghosts, crystal healing, tarot, you name it there was somebody into it.
Anyway I vaguely remember a chap who turned up a few times, he was an ex-miner, and used to work at Westoe Colliery (South Shields used to be a "pit town" until after the miner's strike in 1984, when Westoe, like many others, was mothballed and eventually closed). and he told one of the most bizarre tales I have heard to date.

Westoe Pit, had three main tunnels which started about half a mile inland and went out roughly parallel under the North Sea for up to 15 or so miles. Like all pits, cave-ins were a regular occurence, and especially so at Westoe due to the shear volume of water above. millions of gallons of water had to be pumped out of the mine daily.
One day, not long before the strike, there was a cave-in in one of the tributaries off one of the main tunnels. A group of safety people (I have no idea of their technical name) went to investigate, and found an opening to a large cavern, inside were the ruins of an ancient city, apparently this cavern was vast, and the ruins stretched for miles and miles. The investigators reported it to their bosses and within a matter of hours, government officials arrived on site, and ordered the closure and sealing up of the cavern. everyone was told to forget it had ever happened.
...........

Look, I don't know if its true, but it scared the [word edit.Bmat] out of me !

Although to be honest why there would be a secret society living under South Shields is anyone guess, I mean its not exactly the most glamorous of places is it... (The Australians among you should know all about South Shields, if you remember your history)

Sorry, I know nothing about South Shields. Can you tell me about it please?

As for ancient cities, many have been discovered in recent years. At least one off the coast of India, one off the coast of Cuba, and a few more here and there. Early datings suggest periods of reasonably advanced civilisation around 5,000 years ago.

South Shields, famous as the birth Place of John Simpson Kirkpatrick (The man on the Donkey) ring any bells?

Also birth place of Catherine Cookson (Author)
Ridley Scott (Director)
Dame Flora Robson (Actress)
Micheal Palin or Eric idle of Monty python fame (there appears to be a question over which one of them it was !)

Simpson is one of our big war heroes of course. Him and Weary Dunlop. Oddly, one was field ambulance and one was a surgeon. I can't recall any gun-weilding Schwarzenaggars being heroes in our history. A few Victoria Cross winners were I suppose.

Dark Knight,

You have accumulated quite an impressive list of Creationist evidence for a Young Earth and a Global Flood. But reading through all those websites, chasing down all the references, and checking the math, etc is very time-consuming. Maybe this discussion would benefit from a detailed analysis of just one of your many points. We could check the references and the math, then move on to another once it has been covered thoroughly.

My interests lie in geology, geophysics, geochronology and such. Would you be so kind as to pick out your favorite couple of YEC-evidences from these fields? Then I would like to engage you in a thorough discussion on them.

Are you game?
