And since when has that stopped many of the posters on this site??
I am in the same boat as you, Magus, but a little farther from shore, since I've not read a single one of his predictions...

I personally look at the god being as a spirit father for everyone. Now, here're a few questions for you... Should a father give a child the answers to homework questions? Should he never let the child try riding the bicycle on his own without the father constantly holding the bike up? If the father DID give the answers and DID always hold the child up as he's riding his bicycle, then HOW WOULD THE CHILD LEARN??

In the same way, he being our spirit father, it's his responsibility to allow us to make mistakes. I saw a previous post on freedom of action, with the implied opinion that the father doesn't allow it. Au contraire , but he does.... However, just as if a child disobeys his parents he should be punished to teach him otherwise, and if a man murders he should be sent to jail, and if he kills people several times he should never be allowed to leave the prison, just the same if WE screw up spiritually, we must pay the consequences.

One thing that seeing him/her as a "spirit father" to our souls should tell you is that just as children can become as good as their parents are when they grow up, just the same, he's giving us the opportunity to become like him. Now, do YOU know how to become a God? Do you know how tough the decisions would be? And how do you think that our father became omniscient (all-knowing, in layman's terms)? HE HAD TO LEARN, JUST LIKE WE DO.

How many of us do I think will make it to that highest echelon? Not many. Too many of us are too focused on ourselves, our opinions, our needs, our wants, etc., and are not focused enough on others. I include myself in that group, too, before any of you ask the "and who put YOU up on that pedestal, oh high and mighty one?" question...

I believe that what's required is that we constantly strive to improve ourselves, in every possible way, to be allowed into our father's presence. The lazy or self-centered need not apply.

I didn't really read it. I caught five minutes of a special on him in some hotel in Indianna.

But is not "following God", as you might put it, still following your own heart and desires? I think the Bible says that you find God -- or "the light", as I call it -- in your heart. Not outside or beyond you. That the divine flow of the Universe has existed inside you all along. So you need not to strive to become something you're not, but to become more of the purity and thus less of the corrupt side of you created by the mental poisons of this world.

But that's pretty much what you were saying, isn't it, Aldan? Because I agree if it is.

Phoenix I know when Moses time was......

My point is, if I pick up a bible it has in it something called the Old Testament.....Which has Moses in it.....So when I and many christian's talk about the bible we are including the Old Testament, and the New Testament, if you are just talking of the New Testament you should have said so.......A Christian bible to me inculdes both.....

I hope that sorts it out.....

Phoenix last point.....I think I know what your getting at......some people didn't believe Jesus Christ was the Messiah, at that time, because he died.....and some still don't believe he was the Messiah even now.....

I of course believe that he was.....

Of course overtime the dates of when the books in the NT where written have been looked into greatly and revised down, closer to the time of JC....

Was Daniel’s prophecy FULFILLED...Daniel’s prophecy in the OT..how do you understand the prophecy.....was the Messiah meant to die.....yes....

howlong is a day...in the prophecy a day equals ayear....70 weeks equals 490 years, but when did they start, and the period of years maynot be consecutive, so when do they finish....there are three peroids of time, what do they mean....the three peroids equalling 490 years (the 70 weeks)...

When was the decree.....

69 weeks equels 483 years...add this on to the time of the decree 457 B.C. and you have 26 A.D, plus one year for no year “zero” and you get 27 AD.....the time Jesus Christ began his ministry.....acording to www.triumphpro.com

but do I believe them.....

I believe in the bible and that Jesus Christ is the saviour, I don't have to believe them....

The full explanation of Daniel’s prophecy and why they believe he is the Messiah is at: http://www.triumphpro.com/daniel_s_70_weeks_prophecy.htm

Sorry, I don't have time to read everyone's posts right now... But I just wanted to say that I have a new goal: to write a story that can convince people not to be Christians. Not directly... just something that will make people think...

Okay, not really a goal. It's probably futile, but I'll play with the idea for a little while.
