Most early space drama depicted a humoniod-like figure that looks like a darth-vader proto-type... as the villan. If we met an evil space warlord form the planet Boltar or something, what what would really look like?

would it be a large slug with a set of nasty-looking laser sidarms? or would it be gigantic space monsters that want the human population to convert into an interglatic sweatshop? and be their slaves forever of course...

I predict that aliens who came here and made their presence known would not be here for our good but for their own benefit. So I am going with the slave thing. As to appearance, would they be humanoid- this I can't answer. Two eyes, ears, legs, arms seems to work well enough on this planet, although there are species with more legs and that are not humanoid (centipedes, spiders, some sea animals, snakes)- but do most have the double features (or if very simple creatures then one only)?

Aliens might have different organs altogether. They'd need something to detect what is going on outside their own bodies- so some kind of seeing or vibration detecting organ. They might not need a mouth if they absorbed energy somehow otherwise. They would need some kind of feature to manipulate objects- unless they had telekenesis- or controlled other beings who could do it for them.
