If you could alter your genetic make-up or create a new being, what traits would you give yourself or it?

I'll go first....

I want the carapice of an insect (like an ant), I want to run on photosynthesis like a plant and I want to keep my human brain.

If I were to alter genetic makeup, I think I'd improve the intelligence of the ape: chimpanzee, gorilla, orangutan and others, but not monkeys (they were on a really silly show). And then, I would leave earth in a spaceship and then later on return to it to find...
That the apes have taken over the world and enslaved the few humans left!
("•••• dirty apes!";)

Hmmm. I think I'd definitely alter whatever gene controls organization. That gene may well be missing altogether in my DNA.

Um, and I'd have to create something that could stomp on the creepy giant green ant. :)

How uncivilized. I'm sure all the other intelligent green ants would sense the phermones of death that I would emit and carry my lifeless husk back to the solar ant hill for proper burial. Thus continuing the cycle of intelligent photosynthetic ant life in this otherwise devoid of intelligence world. I'm sure the ape planet would be more sympathetic. We would not, after all, resemble Charlton Heston.

lol - well, then I guess I'd have to alter my DNA to have an inbred love of giant green ants.

You might even find them tasty.

I'd recomend flame broiled and basted with salad dressing.

I might be curious about trying out that 12 strand concept. Would that be a dodecahelix?

Some modification could be applied to the humor gene.
