Scifi and Fantasy Forum: Speculation: What if everyone was nice?
What if everyone was nice?We have moved to new forum software and posting here is closed!
Um...kind of like Americans??? ya, carry on...
"He has what he needs, he is governed by what he knows is right and the only thing that will mess his life up is a Salesman or a Lawyer." - lol, very funny
I'm afraid human nature is not to be nice. We have proven that over the past several thousand years.
*Aldan cheers*
Aww, Aldan, that was very 'nice'
Human nature seems to span a wide range of experience which appears to exceed that of any other species on the planet. If we are defined by our extremes of potential then we are using an extreme definition.
Let's get ready to rumble...
*Aldan grins wryly at the fig*
...Ghandi suddenly gets up from the floor and removes his peace sign neclace emblem which stopped the bullet. Divine intervention? hehe
My christian coworker just commented that Hitler may have appeared to win, but the material world is just a drop of water in the vast ocean that is the cosmic universe and the true winner is Ghandi. My mistake.
...but that's not what fig meant, or was that just my imagination?
I prefer to put all my chips down on the material plane Aldan. Why spend your life preparing for a world that most likely does not exist (Heaven, Nirvana, Enlightenment). Does that mean we claw our way to the top while we are here? I think not. Each kind gesture in the material plane increases the quality of life for everyone who is affected by this gesture. If I am to spend this short time as a human on this planet, I want it to be as pleasant a stay as can be for me and for everyone with whom I associate. If I die by the hand of another, my chance at this comes to an abrupt end. Hitler lost long before he pulled that trigger, but Ghandi also lost because he was robbed of the liberty of life.
