Scifi and Fantasy Forum: Games: LOTR Battle for Middle Earth
LOTR Battle for Middle EarthWe have moved to new forum software and posting here is closed!
Has anyone played this game? I can't believe how fun it is. It's such a strategy game, and the graphics are great. I love the battle sequences and the fact that even the units can get rank-ups, as well as the NPC's, and the NPC's have special moves and spells, some of which they get with the rank-ups. This is an awesome game!
I played the ROTK computer game. For some reason I can't get up the ladder in the beginning. But it may be a different game altogether.
The ladder? I don't understand, but yes this is a completely different game. It's like Command and Conquer, except LOTR and 3D.
What I'm thinking of, which I am now sure is a different game altogther, starts off in the middle of the Battle of Helm's Deep. I am Ganbdalf the White and kill all the Orcs in one area. The only way out, apparently, is up a wooden ladder. But, no matter what I do, I always fall off of it the exact same way.
Yeah I have that one as well, but that one was a big disappointment. It was too short. And I don't know what's wrong with Gandalf. Have you checked your key settings?
I checked anything that I could. But I've had bad luck with glitches with games before. Maybe it's just karma.
I find it has great playability. It seems like one of those games that would take quite a while to get old, which is very important in a game.
Yes. That's why I love the Baldur's Gate series so much. It just never gets old.
I know which one you're talking 'bout Magus. I had no trouble with it cuz I got the video game version.
It says 1.2 GHz, but mine runs on 0.8 GHz. I know what you mean, games are too overpriced, but this one came on Christmas. Often if you just wait a few months, the game price could drop dramatically.
The video game version? I heard of this, but it seems almost completely different from the origional. From what I saw you only had your MC, wheras in the game you have him/her plus up to five other NPC's.
In the ps2 version you can be play only certain character for certain levels, for instance, in the level where you have to kill Shelob, you can only be Frodo or Sam, that is, until you win the game and unlocl all the characters.
um... the multiplayer part of this game is SO ungodly unbalanced... i cant tolerate playing it anymore. a good isengard player can beat anyone else in the game. maybe when the new patch comes out, ill try to play it again...
Really? I never noticed, but I don't play the multiplayer so I wouldn't notice.
you need a very good computer to play it. unless youve gotten a new one since last time i was at your house... yours couldnt handle it.
Hehehehe... I think we all know the answer to that. This Gateway sucks for all manner of games, or anything requiring too much in the meens of graphics.
It doesn't Moooove the graphics around very quickly, does it?
It lags like Hell. That and it used to freeze a lot, although it seems to have moved beyond that. But lagging is still a major problem.
I think it requires 1.3GHz and I have only 0.8GHz. However, it does work.
i have 3 ghz and it slows down when i have other programs running.
RAM is usually the bottleneck with computer games. I've got an Athlon 2700+ processor, but most games will work fine on my computer even at high detail settings due to my having 256mb dedicated vid RAM plus 1.5gb 3200+ RAM.
