Posted By: Azziz Nov 28, 2001 - 06:46 pm | | So Willow finally crashes. Raise your hand if you think she will relapse. *raises hand* She couldn't go a week without magic, hell ten minutes even, when her relationship with Tara was on the line. So with Tara keeping her distance, will Willow be able to maintain enough self control? Was putting Dawn in jeopardy once, enough to break the spell so to speak? Yeah, it was a wake up call, but since this story line deals with addiction I don't expect any magic fixes to Willow's problem. And on a down note, we go into reruns next week, probably why they didn't show a promo.
Raises hand and waves it around... I think its interesting that they showed her shaking/having withdrawals at the end like a drug addict. Of course, the evil guys house was a little overkill with the crack house simile, but whatever. I'm hoping we will see Tara come back to help her...intervention if you will. And yes, no promos for many shows I've noticed. Rerun hell is here again *sigh*

Posted By: Baze Mar 30, 2002 - 07:20 am | | Wow, you got to this ep so much earlier than we did here in the UK! Tabula Rasa was a couple of weeks ago now, and I'm still having problems with it. Why has Willow's magic using suddenly and inexplicably become like a drug experience? It never was before, there's never been even a hint that it could cause physical addiction, although the concept of "magic for a price" had been explored pretty thoroughly. It may be just me, but it looks as though this was all done in too much of a hurry and without a lot of forethought. Previously, the Buffy universe has been well-structured, everything that happens relating or affecting everything else, all tying in to a credible cosmology- wonderful! Now... I'm starting to wonder. It seemed to be the same syndrome as in the first episode with the triumvirate- why were there no knock-on effects from Buffy losing time? What did others see of her when she was in one of the lost periods? Mmm. Basically I'm hoping that this gets better as the season goes on. The one we've seen most recently- the one where Buffy learns that she hasn't "come back wrong" as she'd thought (sorry, don't know many titles!) certainly seems a return to form. Without spoilers, how would you lucky ones who've seen further ahead say the season's performing?
