This is really driving me crazy. I remember watching this live action show back in the early 80s, but I haven't found so much as a whisper of it on the 'Net. The details I do remember involve at least two kids and one adult. The father of one of the kids is missing, and left his son some high tech stuff that pops out of a desk and bookshelf. The characters travel to another dimension/reality. The main villian used to be human and closely associated with the missing father, and is rewriting history books so that said villain isn't mentioned. Another detail I remember is the characters travelling in a cart-type deal through a tunnel lined with spikes on the walls. The last thing I remember was a scene in the last episode I remember seeing where the son is curled up on the floor, the villain's head is floating in midair and the gadgets have popped out of their hiding spaces, and there are flashing lights.

Timeframe is probably very early 1980s. I remember Buck Rogers and Battlestar Galactica more clearly than I do this show.
