And I believe during that discussion I suggested perhaps a LaGrange point would be the answer. PC insisted on the hovering theory, hence my frustration. Glad you cleared that up for me, 'cause a LaGrange point I suppose is a possibility. If you ever read 2010: Odyssey II by Clarke, LaGrange points are discussed there. Discovery had been left by Dave Bowman at the LaGrange point between Jupiter and one of it's moons. Master, what information do you have on LaGrange points? I would imagine it is purely theoretical at this point, as no one has parked anything between the Earth and the moon at a LaGrange point that I'm aware of. Like I said before, I only know a very little about physics. Just enough to get torqued at Star Trek everytime the Enterprise runs out of fuel and the orbit begins to decay. LOL!
Don't know a lot about them. They are kinda like an orbit, except its the natural point between two masses where things are equal. So yeah, I guess B5 could be at one of those. I do know that a LaGrange point is near Jupiter...there are several large asteroids "stuck" in it (remember hearing talk of studying those asteroids), so Clarke using it as a plot device isn't surprising. I do remember hearing that the SOHO satellite was placed at a LaGrange point between the earth and the sun to study the sun, but I don't recall specifically hearing about us putting anything else at one. We may have--I just remember hearing that about SOHO. I believe LaGrange points were the source of the popular SF concept of a "twin earth" or some kind of hidden planet behind the sun because one of the points is always on the opposite side of the sun from us so we can never see it. If you're interested, you can try a search on Google and you'll probably find something about it.

I know what you mean Nomad.

Posted By: ZimNova Mar 29, 2002 - 06:44 pm | | Woo Frelling Hoo. Has it really been 7 months? Well yes, it has. I really don't care that this was a repeat. I have watched this episode like 4 times and it still gives pleasure (ala Rygel) every time! It's like meeting an old girlfriend and after sharing the *what have you been up to?* conversation admitting that I really miss you and would love to be friends, or more, again. A couple of observations. The Hynerian, Orrhn Pak, was wearing a *breather* when she got spaced so there was oxygen to fuel her scream after all. If that can/would be carried in the vacuum of space is still open to question. However, I saw it on my TV so therefore it must be true. The best laugh was both Jool & Crais screaming when part of the Boolite lands in Jool's lap during the firefight, that was a hoot. Bottom line is the wait is over. Even though I've been spoiled by worthless Trolls & Tralps at the SFC BBS, I still await the new final 4 of S-3 over the next month. Bottom line 2. With recent episodes of Enterprise & Andromeda as the example to compare against, Farscape wins hands down as the *best* Sci-Fi series being done on TV right now! ZimNova
tee hee...I know how you feel Zim, I was giddy just to have a FS ep on! I could care less if it was a repeat. NEW EPS START NEXT WEEK!!!! Too bad we only get four of them, then who know's what those idiots at SFC will do. I like the bit at the end... R to J: Why are you wearing an eyepatch? J to R: Boolite in my eye. LOL!
Hi all! I'm waiting in almost breathless anticipation for the next four NEW Farscape episodes. I too, have watched "Fractures" four or five times, and still enjoy it. These last few months I have watched every Farscape episode starting with the first season several times. Like Babylon 5, I simply enjoy them every time I watch them! Did anyone see the new issue of TV guide? There was a brief article about three **NEW** characters coming into the Farscape universe. All women, much to my chagrin. The article stated that we will be getting new episodes from Season 4 in June. Whether or not SFC will stick to that schedule is anyone's guess. I agree about all of the trolls at the SFC BB's. I read but never post. Seems like they look for any reason to rip you a new one. I know some of the details of events in these last four episodes...thankfully I have a supply of kleenex and beer so I'm ready. Didn't ya just love Crichton's "This is a bit TOO naked lunch for me" when he's looking at the assorted goo of the Boolite's innards? I also have a question, or more like an observation. (I know, leave it to me to wonder about this!) Rygel was doing the puppet porno thing with Orran (?). If I recall, early on in the series, I believe it was the DNA mad scientist episode, he told Zhaan that he wasn't a "body breeder". If that was true, what in the frell were they doing. Rygel mentioned he was on top, and on the bottom, etc. Since he doesn't have the, err, equipment to... Being a aquatic species, perhaps hynerian females lay eggs and the males fertilize them. I know, I need to get a life. Kind of pathetic when a puppet gets more action than you do. Anyway...back to my alternate universe now.
Posted By: Bmat Mar 30, 2002 - 03:54 am | | Could he have meant that he wasn't a body breeder- that the females and not the males carried the baby in their bodies?
Posted By: ZimNova Mar 30, 2002 - 08:21 am | | Master. From what I understand Tammy really did injure her eye during those firefight scenes when she got hit by some of the pyrotechnics they used while shooting it. It was Rockne who posted to the SFC's Farscape BBS that that was the reason she had to cancel her planned chat last summer. That BBS is so frelled up though, one can't find a post from last week leave alone 7 months ago, I'm not even going to try to find the original message. I take it her injury was a minor one and she's fine now. ZimNova
Just an observation, Gail ... If Rygel isn't a body *breeder* it's still quite possible that "pleasuring" has been sufficiently separated from breeding in all but the lowest classes of Hynerians. It's just the next step beyond birth control.
