Crowe & Bmat.

My take has been that the reason we hear the word *currancy* (Websters) 2:{the money in circulation in any country} 3:{general use or acceptance}, is because that's the common translation of all the characters various words for *money* by the translator microbes.
However I could vary well be wrong about that.
Maybe over time as the microbes translate more english they substitute one term for the other as their main task is to enable the characters to understand each other.

Zim,

I think that's true, but remember, Ice Cream doesn't translate. I can imagine more than a few earth words, as well as other aliens words just don't switch over.

Who knows though. It probably was a goof up, but still easily whisked away. All in all I've been pleased with them catching most of their "oops" stuff. I mean, we are pretty lucky we haven't heard anyone call John by his real name, Ben Like I've seen in movies and tv shows. :)

Well, I enjoyed the episode. D'argo dancing was worth the price of admission all on it's own. It was obviously a throw away, comic relief ep, with of course the exception of the dark plot of the drug dealer. But I think the ultimate goal was to amuse us as viewers. You can't have every episode be an end of the universe type thing, or it emotionally wears you out. I can't watch shows like E.R. for that reason.

I also liked the editing, camera angles and so on. It kinda made you feel a little under the influence, which obviously John was through most of the episode. Two things which it reminded me of: the party scenes from "Laugh In" and some sequences from "Bram Stoker's Dracula."

Query: Is it possible John made up the whole thing and was lying to Pilot?

LOL, could be Merle, but doesn't really matter since Pilot doesn't give a frell what happened, he and Moya simply want some D'Argo/John free time!

I'm not even sure a "we were ambushed by peacekeepers" would have made a difference to pilot at this point! *at least coming from John's mouth*. From Pilot's reaction it is clear that he thinks John is a storyteller of the tall tale tradition.

In truth I could have lived without the weird editing, but if the intent was to keep the viewer a bit off balence the entire ep, then it worked well on me. ;)

D'Argo was the funnest to watch this ep. Dancing, With his face different, and meeting Scorpy Jr.

I did find it a bit odd that he was able to see Scorpy Jr. and converse with him. Yeah, we will explain it away one way or another, but that aspect just didn't seem plausible to me.
