*The Master points at Bmat* She helps me keep up so I don't have to read every post...so there!
Posted By: Sindatur Jan 29, 2002 - 02:59 pm | | The closest I recall to us seeing the inside of a Vorlon ship is the bit in the Technomage Trilogy (Book 3 I believe) Yes Lyta would have been inside a Vorlon ship (She mentioned missing it's singing in the B5 series), although not sure if she would've been conscious, but since she's been to the homeworld, I don't see what good it would do to hide the inside of the ship from here.
Posted By: Nomad Jan 29, 2002 - 04:07 pm | | I have a better one....They actually find an embryo of either a Vorlon or a Shadow...
Posted By: Azziz Jan 29, 2002 - 05:56 pm | | After the events in the Premier of B5 where Lyta scanned Kosh, she went out looking for them on her own. She was basically dead in the water, with no life support left when the Vorluns *found* her and took her to their homeworld and retrofitted her to exist in thier chosen atmosphere. So it is safe to say she has been inside one of thier ships. The other gentleman was unconcious the entire time he was in the ship. Safeguards were taken that time.
Posted By: Iznardi Feb 01, 2002 - 04:06 am | | That was the episode where President Santiago's personal physician was on the run, with evidence that Clark had faked illness to get depart the presidental ship before it exploded. They hid the doctor aboard Kosh's ship, but had to put him into a coma-like state--in part, so Kosh would allow him to enter, and in part because they didn't want his life signs to show up if an Earth force squad scanned the ship. When they did scan the ship, there was only one life reading--and since it wasn't the doctor, and kosh was not on board, they figured out that the ship itself was a lifeform. Also, we know Lyta was inside a Vorlon ship because we saw her exit one during one of her early returns to B5 as Kosh's assistant. She came out awake and alert, so supposedly she had been conscious during her journey. iz
Lyta has been inside a Vorlon ship. We do not know if she was concious(sp) in the ship or how much she knew about the ship. From what JMS has said, the character of Lyta is suppose to be dead at the time of LOTR. Since we have not seen it in a tv series or movie and her death has not been formally proclaimed in a book, I am assuming she is acutally alive. G'Kar could have very easily said that Lyta died in LOTR but did not. Where does that leave us? At the time of LOTR we know that Lyta has been a a Vorlon ship. We also know that Sebastian has been in a Vorlon ship. We do not know where either of these people are or if they are still alive. There are a great deal of mysteries surrounding the Vorlon's that I would love to see addressed. What happened to all the individuals they kept in status, liek Sebastion? I doubt that they will find a Vorlon ship floating in space. The Vorlon ships are set to kill themselves when the Vorlon controlling them dies. Witness Kosh and Ulkesh's ships behavior. My guess is that the ships went with the Vorlons or found different stars to fly into. I could be wrong but I would be surprised if I was.
Posted By: fanuilh Feb 03, 2002 - 05:44 pm | | By the time LoTR takes place, Lyta is dead. G'Kar says, "She is gone now." JMS has also said she's dead by this time.

Posted By: Sindatur Feb 04, 2002 - 06:43 am | | Hi PC, At the end of the Inquisitor, didn't Sebastian say something to the effect of the Vorlons would now let him die? As far as Lyta goes, the flashback in Crusade where PsiCorps Headquarters was blown up, the Red haired character was meant to be Lyta. If JMS could've worked out the money vs time deal with her, it would have been Pat Tallman who played the part. Since he couldn't get her, it is a nice thought to believe that was not her final fate. And I for one find it implausible that if, that was Lyta, that there was no way for her to get out alive and still perform the job that had to be done. She was just too strong. And, as PC, says we can all live in hope because every allusion to Lyta being dead (books, series, movie, etc) can also be taken as simply not around, it doesn't neccessarily have to mean dead.
Posted By: Nomad Feb 04, 2002 - 07:12 am | | Lyta would not have been able to get out from anywhere in order to do her job. SHE was the explosived device. Her own Telepathic/kenetric programming allowed her to use herself to explode via fusion or fission or somthing like that. She was an actual Nuke. With that, I suppose, she could have gone the way of the Vorlons and became energy , even with the explosion. Hmmmm
Posted By: Sindatur Feb 04, 2002 - 10:57 am | | Actually what I meant Nomad is that as powerful as she was, she didn't need to put herself in a position like that. She was a leader of the rogue telepaths and her leadership was needed (As all the Sheridan Chowderhead discussions were about him putting his life in danger)
Posted By: Nomad Feb 04, 2002 - 05:38 pm | | Aaahhh! Gotcha.... Hey Crash....remember those great Chowderhead discussions. "Chowderhead"...forever giving us the caption under sheridan. Thanks ProfCrash.
Posted By: LD Feb 10, 2002 - 05:10 am | | Sindatur, If I remember correctly, Sebastian said that he hoped that they would feel he had done enough penance(sp?) to allow him to finally die. What struck me in LotR is that they called Lyta "Lysa Alexander", or did I just mis-hear.
Posted By: Nomad Apr 04, 2002 - 04:43 pm | | Bad News Folks: I will post this in JMS SPEAQKS where I got it from also.... I just read an article about Scifi announcing a bunch of new miniseries, movies, and shows (most of which sound kind of crappy); but they made no mention of Rangers. Does this mean it's over, or are they still negotiating? I just wish someone would tell us what's going to happen, whether it's good news or bad. The SciFi Channel has indicated that it's moving away from space shows, with all the hardware/alien stuff that goes with it. (This as per its recent announcement about upcoming shows.) So it looks like Rangers isn't going to go ahead. They haven't said it directly, but networks never do. jms
I don't have time to read all those old posts....over a 100 to find out what you all thought.....but I will briefly say what I thought having seen it for the first time..... That weapons system.....who was she fighting? some unseen mence I would say it was stupid to me..... Apart from that it was good over all......
Posted By: Nomad May 17, 2004 - 08:50 am | | She was fighting her way through trail of debris from being in the tail of a comet, I believe.
Yes I know that Nomad...I was trying to be funny....you would think there was a better way....I wonder if head butt does anything?
Posted By: Nomad May 18, 2004 - 05:56 am | | Oh, I see. Yes, everyone thought that was a bit cheesy. Unique, but cheesy. Maybe it was the actress....dunno. Need to watch the scene again.
I think anyone in that scene would look stupid. It struck me as a highly ineffective weapons system. What happens if you get into a drawn out battle and the weapons officer gets tired? or pulls a muscle? I cannot believe that a human can process information more quickly and efficiently then a computer would. It never did make sense. There was one other large event that doomed Legend of the Rangers. 9/11/01. Out of respect that NFL did not play football for a week. This pushed the SuperBbowl back a week. LoTR ended up airing on Super Bowl Sunday with the New England Patriots playing (and winning)in the game. Needless to say, viewership on the East Coast for LotR was incredibly low. The West Coast saw LotR after the Super Bowl where viewership was higher then the projected numbers. When you averaged the two coasts, the viewership was not high enough to attract advertisers.
