OK...Buffy has languished long enough on this forum!

What in the heck is going on with SFF shows? Farscape's season of death, and now they knock off Buffy! Sure, I'd heard rumors that someone was going to get it in the finale, and I thought Anya was in for it when Xander proposed (because its the kind of cruel twist they would play). And yes, Buffy is the title character and we all know UPN has picked up the show for two more years so she MUST be coming back.

But come on! Who saw this coming?

Now taking bets on how resurrection will be accomplished...

Can anyone give me an idea of what's going on here!? Xander and Anya? Buffy's dead? Am I getting this right? I'm in the UK but always after details -- last episode I saw Glory take Dawn and that's it. I don't wanna wait a week! Is there a good website for spoilers, or does anyone feel kind enough to give me a couple of bits and pieces?

ACK! Oh cripes...I was so freaked out I posted a major spoiler in my topic. DOH! Sorry guys, I was overly excited I guess. I've amended my title and added a spoiler warning for those who DON'T want to know in advance.

If Glory just took Dawn, then your next ep is the season finale, right? Well, I just gave you two great big spoilers and I don't want to totally ruin everything for you Ajelina. Its worth the wait! The episode is very good and there are several big happenings, plus a number of sideline little things spread throughout the ep. (watch for Giles' twist at the end, and Spike & Buffy have a good "I don't totally hate you" scene).

Big event #1: Xander proposes to Anya on their eve of destruction, and its a great scene for both of them. Funny, touching, silly...pure A&X! She says...well, that part you really should see (I liked her answer a lot, and you won't be disappointed)!

Big event #2: As you would expect, there is a battle royale with Glory. Excellent fight for Glory and Buffy. I thought the gang was a little underused (with the exception of a couple good blows), but I was a mostly disappointed that Willow didn't have a more active part. I was looking forward to the "bitchen witch" hurling some serious magic around. She does her part, but is out of it early.

Super Big event #3: Yes, Buffy dies. A noble death to be sure, and it nicely ties together the whole "Who is Dawn?"-"Death is my gift?"-"Why am I here?" thing the Buffster has been dealing with for so long. They make it VERY final, so there is no question she is dead.

That's why I'm taking bets on the method of resurrection...

Thanks!

And as for Buffy's death, I guess there's only one thing I can say:

Again!?

Buffy dead means another Slayer. So if Buffy comes back that means three lovely superladies kicking vampire butt or in Faith case just anyones

I know this post is old (way old!) but I just want to clearify something because it seems a lot of people don't understand: Buffy died in Season 1. Kendra came. Kendra died, Faith came. Now if Faith dies another slayer will come. Since Buffy is already technically out of the line, another slayer will NEVER COME IF BUFFY DIES AGAIN! It just irks me that few people get this concept. :)

HOLLYWOOD, California (Variety) -- Sarah Michelle Gellar's done with "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

The actress has confirmed to producer Joss Whedon something most industry insiders have assumed for months -- namely, that this season will be her last with the UPN series, according to people connected to the show.

Her departure also likely means "Buffy," at least in its current incarnation, will wrap in May, something that's also not much of a shocker, given the show's apocalyptic storylines this season.

Still to be decided: whether the producers and UPN will proceed with a new "Buffy" spinoff, or whether the franchise will simply end. WB Entertainment president Jordan Levin said Tuesday he's hopeful but not certain that "Angel," a "Buffy" spinoff launched in 1999, will be back next fall.
