Maybe there are some fellow aussies on this board but some help from ALL would be appreciated.

The station showing Farscape here has totally stuffed us around. They put it on for 4 eps, took it off ("didn't rate" they said) put it back on during the Olympics, took it off again. Finally they gave it a Saturday night spot
(though would cancel it occasionally at whim).

They finished showing us the first series before Christmas - and there is no word at all when they will get around showing us series 2 (and hey, what
about 3???)

Anyway there is a petition going at the station's webiste and I am asking any who can to sign it - also add to the daily pleas from sundry fans desperate for Farscape to return to our screens. To find the board go to

http://discussion.ninemsn.com.au/bbstvshows1.asp?topicid=&d1=true&l1=1024

then click on "GENERAL - TV" (there USED to be a specific Farscape board but they canned it) and post there. To find the petition to sign you will
have to scroll down to a post dated 14 April.

Thanking all in advance
Kim

Kismet,
"Hope is all we have", Delenn from Babylon.
TV programmers are fools for the most part. It's lucky us that ANY good shows make it past them to begin with :-)
FarScape is made in OZ and as a *yank* one would think that the star attraction of locals like Claudia Black, Virginia Hey & Tony Simcoe would bring in an Auzzie audience, never mind the fact it's a great Sci-Fi series, the best being shown here in the US.
Thanks for your post and hang in there.
The *power* of the internet will favor your crusade to have the show shown in your local market.
WE WILL RESPOND IN MASS!!!
La Femme Nikka got 8 extra episodes out of USA networks (parent co. of the SFC) thanks to fan support so there is hope.

That's really a shame. You'd think they'd show more pride in an Aussie production that has quickly become a huge success all over the world. They'll be sorry they dumped it when the rest of the world is watching season 10 and the movie is cleaning up at the box office (I can see it, can't you?).

Best of luck with your petition efforts!

Frelling difficult website to navigate thanks to the wonders from MSN (Gill Bates & Co.) no doubt.
Click Here to go right to the petition.
Dren, that link will only get you half way there.
Step 2, open the *related topics* drop down menu and select *general*.
Step 3, in the gray header bar click *more* at the far right to go back a page to the petition.
btw, try not to laugh when the *reply* form opens 'cause it really sucks and is the reason I could not link directly to the petition.
One thing I've learned about using the 'net is, "together we can make a difference".
Carry on.

Thanks for all your help and support (and yes Crowe, I DID see your post). Alas the bastards have wiped the petition - and subsequent "where's our petition" posts have never appeared (it's a moderated board). I don't think Channel 9 WANT to know about it. Maybe they are pretending its a dud here so they can write off the costs for tax reasons? Gee who knows?

I think they should be proud of the show, it is funny intelligent sci fi and the best series in the genre (IMHO) since Blakes 7. It also gives some home grown talent a chance for some work. They have left us literally hanging - with Crichton floating in a space suit and all our heroes scattered or assumed dead. How can they do this to us???

Sometimes I think TV execs maybe have the erronous idea that sci fi only appeals to one small demographic - when it really does have an appeal across a broad range of demographics. I know teenagers who watch it, I know mums who watch it, I even know grandparents who watch it!

cheers and thanks again

WOOPS! Silly me - they haven't wiped it - it's just gone back a couple of pages. It's up to 25 signatures so far, but as it is getting harder to find (you can't just scroll down, you have to back arrow through to a previous page), maybe it won't grow now so quickly.

Thanks again for all your help in signing the petition. Thye MUST listen to us eventually (she says hopefully).
cheers

Inasmuch as their board works the way it does (with replies not moving the post back to the top), you may want to encourage people to post NEW topics instead. What looks more impressive? A board with a hundred topics saying "give us Farscape" or one where there are a hundred replies to a buried topic 3 or 4 pages down?

I really don't know how effective these are, but you can also try a petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/ (I'm sure there are other sites...I just happen to know of this one). Then, try and get all the Farscape and SF sites that you can to link to it, particularly any Aussie run sites -- they will be most likely to have visitors who will want to sign.

Thanks Master for the tip - there IS generally a "daily plea" from one fan or another. The petition site is a good thought - I have now tracked down an aussie farscape bulletin board - maybe we can get mobilised *g*
cheers and thanks
