Posted By: Nomad Apr 05, 2002 - 05:57 am | | April 5: I Yensch, You Yensch: Talyn, the offspring of the living spaceship Moya, turns psychotic in a gripping story that kickstarts a season-ending four-episode cycle. After detecting a medical vessel on their scanners, Crichton and the Moya crew — with Talyn in tow — decide to drop off the wounded Naj Gil for treatment. But their plans are thwarted when Talyn inexplicably attacks the medical vessel. According to Crais, Talyn's captain, the only way to treat Talyn is to shut him down — over Moya's objections. Also, the insidious Scorpius barters with Rygel and D'Argo for vital wormhole technology, but negotiations are disrupted by a pair of motley aliens.

Posted By: ZimNova Apr 06, 2002 - 08:40 pm | | My first honest thought after viewing this episode was; "What, we waited 7 months for this?" Upon further review however this was not to bad after all. I actually came to like it thinking that's what's great about good shows, it may not hit you until you've seen it 3 or 4 times. The *A* Story OK, so Talyn has gone bonkers but why? Being hooked up to Crais for to long? Being an abomination that's not a true Leviathan? Not having a *Pilot* like his mother? That whole scene when Talyn shoots the medical ship was vary interesting. Crais was really upset. He has come around and seems to have a heart, not that I doubted it but one can never be sure with his character. He was the one whom must make the hard choice of what to do about the renegade Talyn. A choice nobody wanted to make or is happy with. John seemed stunned, helpless even. Thanks to others who have pointed out that John is in worse shape emotionally than Aeryn after the crew has reunited aboard Moya. He seems adrift and has lost his center. He even say's to Aeryn; "You asking me?", implying what good council can he hope to offer. Talyn firing on Moya was a big surprise to me, leaving little doubt he's gone off the deep end. Aeryn's little talk with Moya was also good as she states that aboard Talyn she has had the best of times & the worst of times, reminding us that that's where T-John died. We also have to remember that it's only been a week or so in *Farscape* time since the events in *Fractures*. The *B* Story I liked this story better which was the reverse of most of the posters at the SFC because I have no emotional tie to Talyn. OK, shuting him down was sad and all but that was not that *heavy* for me. Not like losing Zhann was as an example. I liked how Chiana decked Jool to keep her from leaving but wonder if she'll really skip out herself at the "next planet they pass"? Her Psi abilities seem to be getting stronger too and how long will it take for the others to start trusting her? She made a believer out of Jool though. On the planet Rygel showed us again he's a tough negotiator even with Scorpius. He also blew off the death threat at the beginning perhaps knowing it was a rouse. Remember that Scorpy and him already have a history and he did a fine job during *Thanks for Sharing* as a middle man. Not bad for a self-centered little slug! Ah, those 2 *Blue Thugs* What a frelling hoot! Oh why so difficult? Rygel; "Because you didn't think it through Freckic, you didn't have a plan". There is nothing more dangerous than a couple of idiots with guns. Real fear there. No rhyme nor reason would work on that pair. Rygel tried his best to *work* them as did Scorpy. Did you notice that R&S were playing off each other? Both trying to offer an even bigger pay-off to the thugs in the hope of getting out of there in one piece. Ka'Dargo & Larraq being linked by the *Yensch* bracelets was also funny. Kick one in the b**** and the other feels the same pain...Ouch! K slaps L...ouch again as he hits himself by default. I could not help but be reminded by the smaller of the two of a character from the Canadian comedy troupe, *The Kids in the Hall*. The *Chicken Lady* character was always with that Ack, Ack chicken language. At the last though we get serious with the J/A relationship. They both need time as do we. Bring on the next 3 baby.......let's rock! ZimNova
Posted By: Bmat Apr 07, 2002 - 05:11 am | | Now I wish I'd taped it. I could hardly stay awake. I had the same thought as your original one Zim, I waited all these months for this? The pre-show was a good idea. One of my complaints has been these long intervals between shows cause me to lose my enthusiasm. The pre-show reminded me of many of the situations. There was comedy, action, soul-searching, surprise....this show should have worked for me. Intead I kept looking at the clock and wondering why it wasn't over yet. The blue aliens were well done, as the aliens typically are in the series. -one reason I like it. I wonder about Chiana's psi powers- would that be the true reason she was being taken back to her home planet when we first met her? I was glad there was a new episode, but I hope the next episodes grab my interest. Maybe getting back into it will help. Shoulda taped it.
Posted By: Iznardi Apr 09, 2002 - 02:30 pm | | I was more interested in the battle of wits between Rygel and Scorpius than in the rest of the story. Rygel once more shines forth for deviousness. I really hope we see him become Dominar again, because he would be formidable both as an ally and an enemy. The Talyn story seemed a little cut and dry to me--an easy way out for a plot twist that was going nowhere. The big attraction now, of course, will be to see how Crichton plans to turn the tables on the Peacekeepers. I am getting a little sick of the screaming matches and hope they drop this in the next season. I know this is part of the production standard--to have chaos and white-noise that constantly adds to the confusion and forces the viewer to pay attention in order to follow the plot--but it's getting old and tiresome. The crew used to fight and argue without constantly shrieking or bellowing at each other. Like Zim, I liked the episode but also felt it was something of an anti-climax after 7 months.
I have to agree...not very exciting for making us wait so long. I wan't very into the Talyn part either, except I enjoyed Aeryn's talk with Moya but that's probably because I really Aeryn and Moya I think I'm with Iz...Rygel and Scorpius had a standout exchange and made the ep for me. The blue critters were funny, but that little squeeky noise thay made grated on me after a while. I got a great laugh from D'Argo too I loved the bit after pounding his head on the floor: "wha..wha...oh, I've got a thick skull". LOL!

Posted By: ankae Apr 11, 2002 - 01:12 pm | | hello, from a new member and Farscape fan. My first message was on UK Spoiler Zone so I say hello again. When I first saw I Yensch, You Yensch I was a bit dissapointed because I remembered this “let’s go on a suicidal mission” scene. It was very dynamic and made me believe in a dark fighting ep. I wasn’t prepared for blue barking critters and a deal in a restaurant. But now I like this ep. The Rygel/Scorpius scenes are great. I felt sorry for this scarran who got killed by Talyn. It would have been quite interessting having him on board of Moya. The story of Talyn was very touching for me because I like(d?) Talyn very much. He’s unique. And Crais’s reaction was touching. I think that they are deeply bond together. But I think the whole story was overloaded with new things, changings and different scenes. I was hard to get the meaning of shuting up Talyn.
Oops...I almost missed you over here ankae! I definitely avoid the spoiler board, so I don't know who's over there! Welcome to the forum and please keep sharing your insights in these ep forums as we catch up.
