Posted By: Ryton Mar 20, 2004 - 04:35 am | | Hey all, The last weeks i am looking for the fantasy series in witch a specific magic system is used: I cannot recall it exactly, but I'll try to describe what i still know: In the book, a magician draws a 'special kind of pentagram' on the ground, with sand or something else. The pentagram consists of a square, with one cirkle on the outside, and one on the inside. These are pierced by a 8-pointed star, with 4 points reaching out of the first cirkle, going to the corners of the square, and 4 other points also breaching the square and outer cirkle. I thought it meant something like: the inner cirkle is the world of the living, outside the outer cirkle is the world of the dead, and the magic breaks the barrier for a while, ... (i have tried to put a sketch in my avatar) Does this sound familiar to anyone? I know the info is really incomplete :s To give you a start:In the past, I have read several series of fantasy books from authors like Weiss&Hickmann, Robin Hobb, Terry Goodkind, JV Jones, R. Jordan, Feist, and a few more... To much to read them all again to find out Any ideas are welcome, thanx

I'm guessing that to find a specific book you'll need to have more information about the plot. Or you could thumb through sites that review each of the possible series that you listed. Maybe someone else here will have better ideas.

(from another forum) I was looking for the 'grace' symbol, in the books from Terry Goodkind, especially book 5 and 7, but book 3 mentions it, and ive been told the prequel did too. Pictures based on the facts of the book can be found on terry goodkinds site, then click fan area -> fan gallery -> grace1 to grace10 I wasnt far from the right drawing :p Thanx a lot for the trouble Bmat, and for the fun discussions I declare this topic closed, unless other people have something to say?
