Posted By: Gablety Apr 04, 2001 - 06:51 pm | | Lots of forum-goers are really really skeptical. In one thread, someone said that something like the "force" from Star wars could never exist. In another, someone said that it doesn't matter that this peasant boy whose the long-lost heir probably doesn't speak the same royal language as the princess he's wooing, this is fantasy, it's about suspending disbelief, and we already have something as unrealistic as magic, so why not go the whole hog? Well, I believe in magic. I beleive in telekinesis, which is what TK stands for. If you don't believe in magic, you call for 'scientific verification", why not try and experience it yourself? Here is a simple exersize in TK. Take a fork. I reccomend one about the same size as you eat with, and sort of square, not all luscious and curvy. (But don’t worry of the curvy ones are the only ones you have; just use tham anyyway. Also, it’s largely a matter of taste.) Hold it in your writing hand. Just relax, don’t try to read or watch TV or anything; just relax and hold the fork. Some people like to visualise their energy flowing into the fork, or to feel their atoms merging with those of the fork. However, I find those bulky amd sort of unhelpful. When the fork gets hot, just reach out with your mind and try to bend it. Don’t worry that it might be impossible, or that it’s not accepted, or anything. If you need to read a fantasy story first, and just forget what is real. You should be able to make the tines bend noticeable, or at least wiggle. It’s ridiculously easy, and if you didn’t get it after five or ten minutes of trying, just put the fork away, and try it again the next day. Then come here again, and tell me what you think!

I mean, I would expect one person to say that the whole concept is stupid and laughably ridiculous, another to say that he or she tried it and it worked and is totally convinced, one person to say he or she tried it anyway and it didn't work, one person to say he or she tried for a week and then it worked, one person to tell me to post my "plausability" argument in the proper thread, another person liking or disliking "forces" in general, and so on! Hasn't anyone tried TK?
I myself have tried this, and it did work just a little. Personally, i think that living things CAN physically manifest their energy and perform very small feats of Telikinesis. Other people tend to think that the whole idea of Telekinesis is hokey and undoable. I have proved many a person wrong in my lifetime by doing similar feets. Also, you can take an itsy bitsy tiny peice of paper, set it on a flat surface (such as a table or smooth floor), clear your mind of all thoughts and concentration, excpet that of moving the paper. After 5-15 minutes, it should have moved just a little, if not more. If it hasn't, however, just try again tomorrow. Like they say, practice makes perfect.
Why is Telekinisis important to talk about and practice ? * S *
Posted By: Bmat Jul 19, 2001 - 07:59 pm | | I don't know what others would say about the question, but I have curiosity about whether or not such a thing actually happens. So my answer to the question of why is it important, would be to prove if there is telekinesis, which would lend credibility to the existence of other psychic phenomena. Are there practical uses for telekinesis. I suppose there could be, if the objects moved could be large enough. How about manipulation of internal objects or organs in the body to avoid surgery. I can see the moving of an umbilical cord from around the neck of a fetus, for example. Or, I wonder if a coin swallowed by a child could be encouraged to come back up without dangerous and painful procedures. With the ability to move even larger objects, preventing drops or falls perhaps. However what about the dark side and evil intentions in using such a skill. One could perhaps stop a heart, or cause strangulation, or steal.

I personally think it's important to at least try, because if you see anything, it will change our conceptions of science, matter, and energy and give us new insights on how the world works.
Of the two very challenging above posts , I gather it is a good thing that Telekinesis is not a skill of the many *S*
Posted By: Ajelina Jul 21, 2001 - 07:49 am | | Bmat, you should -- you've highlighted one of the deaths in my plot!!! I had a go with this particular exercise but got nowhere. Mind you I was feeling sceptical at the time, and I have been successful before esp. with weathervanes: maybe belief in it plays a part? Even the idea of bending a fork gives me a disturbing vision of Uri Geller -- hey, we're visualising... now clutch your forehead with a grimace like you're constipated How successful has anyone else been?
Posted By: Gablety Jul 21, 2001 - 03:40 pm | | Well, to be honest I haven't had many results. When I first tried, I used a paper umbrella. That's a square of paper folded so that its center will balance on a needle stuck in an eraser. The first time anyone in my house tried it, they all said it was bunk (but me) but were all able to move it at least 30 degrees, sometimes even all the way around a full circle. I could usually make it move at least a little (and these were in places I tested for air currents by leaving it there for many hours). It felt obvious if the paper was moving by TK; there was a sort of "pushing" feeling, and it moved perfectly smoothly, as if it were some heavy iron thing on well-oiled bearings. (When I moved it with my finger or breath as opposed to TK, it had a very jolting motion.) I eventually got tired of it, since it felt so futile, and I could never decide which way I wanted to turn it. So I moved onto forks. With a fork, I've only been able to let the tines move a few millimeters, no more. And what I'm experienceing could very well be just a function of my imagination. When I do TK on a fork, I put my finger on top of the two tines I'm tryng to move. (My dad saw that, and said, "Oh, that's not TK, I can do that" because he thought I was using strong finger muscles to bend the tines. But it's obvious if you're really pushing with you're finger, it comes from a whole different direction.) After a few seconds, provided I'm properly relaxed, I feel a very distinct "pinching" sensation. But that's all it does for me, and there could be another explanation.
With reference to fork-bending and other attempts to observe Telekinesis , it might prove interesting to study the famous Clark-Trimble experiments . Although it is obvious that it is impossible for one to explain adequately here , please allow me to mention that I understand that the point of these experiments were statistical findings that any experimenting human being influences the outcome of the experiment , more often than not , favourably to the intended or anticipated or envisaged outcome . The admittedly rough terms Intended , Anticipated or Envisaged outcome determined three different cases of , perhaps , strength of influence . I would think that as not all human beings are characterised by the same strength of electromagnetic force field or biological energy field , call it what we may , it is no wonder not all human beings may achieve a measurable effect of Telekinesis .

hmmm I prefer to leave magic in stories for the present. Don't ask me why...It's too late for me to think But I prefer my own versions of magic and life in stories without having fact get in the way. That may not make sense to a lot of people...But I don't like having to use a magic with a definition. One of the best things about it is that it has none. That's just me tho
Posted By: Loveless Mar 23, 2004 - 10:05 pm | | The existence of telekinesis is hard to beleive unless you have experienced it for yourself. Fortunately i have, so im pretty sure telekenisis is possible. What finally convinced me was a website i visited. It stated that most people encounter telekinesis accidentaly, and will mistake objects flying around there homes and lights flickering for poltergeis behavior, when in fact the cause of these moving objects could have been due to them using telekinesis "accidentaly". Now this got me thinking back to a time in my childhood when i beleived my grandmother's house was haunted. i remember sitting in a room alone and scared. I looked at the door expecting a "ghost" or "boogie man" to open the door. Well guess what?.......It did open. But was there somthing on the other side to frighten me? No not at all. But i still stood up and ran out of the room terrified. Today i have come to the conclusion that my adolesant mind was so frightened that somthin "would" happen, and it somehow triggered my telekinetic abilities and it "did" happen. I beleive that emotions are of equal importants as concentration and meditation when performing telekinesis. In this case fear was the emotion that helped triggered my use of telekinesis. Im not an expert on this subject nor do i perform telekinesis on a regular basis, but for those who wish to use telekinetic abilites a bit of advice i would give from personal experience would be to 1. Focus on your emotions, however u may be feeling at the time 2. Dont wish for it to happen imagine that it "is" or "will" happen.
