Okay, some of you may be familiar with the video game franchise "Silent Hill". I'm trying to find a horror novel that follows that same style of disturbing, unexplained horror.

If you haven't heard of Silent Hill, it follows a style of horror that I've come to see called "Japanese Horror" or "J Horror", much like the movies "The Ring" and "The Grudge".

So, if anyone knows of a novel with this style of horror, let me know! I've been trying to find one for years.

Sorry, but I am unfamiliar with all of the above listed movies/games/books. While I've heard of them I have not viewed them.

But I'll keep an eye out for anything related.

I am not a big fan of horror movies, however you might like reading Harry Philip Lovecraft stories.

He was for sure the master of the horror litterature (no offense to Stephen King fans but he doesn't come close)

I'm a Stephen King fan, a big one at that. And I've told it many times that Stephen King has been innapropriately typecast as a horror author. I could rant on this for a while, but I won't unless somebody asks me to explain my reasons.

So yes, Stephen King does not equal Horror, possible exceptions being The Shining, which I haven't read, and quite possibly Carrie, which I have. But Carrie is a stretch still in my mind.

I hear that Deen Koontz is pretty good, but you already know that.
