Here's another book I had to write up my thoughts and feelings on. The restrictions my teacher put on this are very limiting, but here's what I have.

There aren;t really any spoilers here and it is a short blurb of what I thought about the book. Here we go:

This novel, by Stephen King, is his second to the last which takes place in the Maine town of Castle Rock. It concerns Thad Beumont, an author, and George Stark, his Pen-Name that has manifested itself and somehow breathed itself life out of the hate from being “killed off”.

He first murders all whom he feels are responsible for his “death”, in turn framing his creator for them. He then kidnaps Thad’s wife and children and forces himm to help him write for himself, lest he “loose cohesion” and pass from this world.

This is another excellent story written by Stephen King. And, while it is not the best I have read by him, it is exciting and a good read nonetheless. It, like nearly all of King’s works, his highly character-driven in terms of plot.

The characters are fleshed out and made real, in more then one way. Their decisions have consequences which we can all feel and relate to. Through powerful uses of suspense and masterful flow of his macabre writing style this story leaps from the page and is lit by the fires of imagination flowing from the written word.
