I'm not sure if this the correct forum for this question, but what the hell. Does anyone have any earthly idea when A Feast for Crows is going to be released?

LOL nope, no one knows. Apparently Amazon.com has listed a release date. Martin laughed and said it was news to him.

Martin said he hopes to have the book done by the end of this year.

But you know how that goes.

Martin's publisher (Spectre/Bantam Dell) lists the release date as July 2005.

I've heard that its suppost to be done by August 1, 2005 here in the US, but of course, that is assuming that Martin [word edit. The language is very derogatory and not suitable for the site. Bmat], which is doubtful. The last time he updated the Feast for Crows was in November so I'm not hopeful. Originally, it was suppost to be done by April of 04, if not before. It's sad, to me, that someone so lazy should be given such a great talent.

I do think you're missing the point, earthdragon88. If you look at his website, it's not that he's not updating, it's that he's constantly editing it so it isn't rushed out like certain other authors have done *cough Robert Jordan Crossroads of Twilight *cough. Remember this book wasn't even supposed to be included, but it had to be otherwise the fifth would be worse. Martin says he's been working on it non-stop for three years. I would hardly say he's been sitting on his butt all day, would you?

Well, if he's been writing, it has probably been while he has been sitting on his butt.

Martin's last update on the release date for Feast was posted on 17 Jan 05. It shouldn't be much longer now. Course it's already at about 1500 pages, so it's gonna be a fatty!!!
