I heard that Eragon by Christopher Paolini was being made into a film. That true? And what books did Tamora Pearce write? No spoilers, just what it might say on the back. I'm a newbie by the way.

When the dead man whispers, only pain can come

Welcome to SV, deadwhisper!

I've read a few by Pierce- The Trickster's Choice was my favorite.

An easy way to find the answer to your question is to go to amazon.com and write in the name.

Eragon maybe made into a movie.....someone has the film rights, but just because they have the film rights does not mean they will make a movie......

I really enjoyed Eragon and really hope that it is made into a movie. I also can hardly wait until the next book The Eldest comes out!!

God Bless You,

I still haven't gotten around to reading it yet. When I finish Something Wicked This Way Comes, The Dark Tower VI: The Song of Susannah and The Dark Tower VII: The Dark Tower I'll be free to options. Hopefully I'll then be in the mind to pick up a copy and read it. But I may be tuckered out of fantasy for the moment, so I'll probably get to it after one or two non-fantasy books.

Trust me, after reading almost nothing but since summer you can get tuckered out of just about anything.

LOL

How close it would be to the book would depend how lienient with his rights the author is. I know that Stephen King lets them go far too easily, in my and other's opinions. It really depends on the author.

This is what i've heard about the film along with other information thus far:

1. Stefen Fangmeier might be directing it, but he has not signed on yet, so it is not official. It will be his first time directing, though he's been the visual effects supervisor for many films, such as; Lemony Snickets, Master and Commander, Signs, Saving Private Ryan, and many more.

2. Casting hasn't begun yet, though there are rumours of them wanting Jeremy Sumpter to be cast as Eragon.

3. The screenplay will be written by Peter Buchman, who also wrote the screenplay for Jurassic Park III

4. The release date is rumoured to be sometime in the 4th quarter of 2005, in competition with King Kong and Harry Potter 4. I have also heard that it is scheduled to be released in 2007, and not 2005.

5. The 2nd book in the trilogy, The Eldest, is finished, and will be released in August 2005.

6. A video game is scheduled to be released with merchandise for the upcoming movie.

Cheers :)

There is absolutely zero chance that it will be out in 2005 if casting has not yet begun. I'd heard that rumor, too, but it seems unlikely now.

You're counting on the guy who wrote Jurassic Park III to do a good job? Well, stranger things have happened, namely Legally Blond 2 and Needful Things adaptation.

I haven't read it yet but I really want to. But I felt the same way when I read The Outsiders by S.E.Hinton. She was thirteen when she wrote it.
