I had to get a fresh copy, used, cos it's out of print. Roger Zelazny's "Jack of Shadows". I like Jack, with his own brand of honor. I like Jack's world, his half in darkness and ruled by magic, the perputally light side based in science and logic. Yet the light side believes that magic keeps the world going, and the dark side believes that a great machine at the center of the world keeps things right and proper.

Any other Jack fans out there?

I never heard of it but it sounds cool. I'll have to give it a read sometime.
