Just started reading Stephen Baxter's Timelike Infinity. It's good so far but the writing keeps getting broken up by scientific explanation. Occasionally he tries to merge it with the story, having one character explain it to another, but this doesn't always work so well. So it's quite disjointed but the plot is fascinating enough to keep me going. It's been said that you can get away with mediocre writing if you have a good plot, and I'm afraid this is one of those.

Any thoughts?

Hi,

I know the post above is a bit old but I thought I'd let you know there's a recently created Stephen Baxter tribute web-site, The Manifold. (http://www.themanifold.co.uk)

I aim to make the site the first place on the net to look at for any news regarding Baxter's new releases, awards, and other Baxter-related articles.

The site contains a full bibliography, biography, news section, and links to many other sci-fi sites that have reviewed Baxter's work.

I hope that you find the site useful and if you have any queries or critisisms please email contact@themanifold.co.uk

Thanks!

jamie
