Scifi and Fantasy Forum: Movies: The Matrix.
The Matrix. We have moved to new forum software and posting here is closed!
Did anyone not think that most of the ideas in this movie, despite the fact that it was a damn good action film, were totally unoriginal. Anyone read Neuromancer (william gibson), mnnn..... distortion of reality, zion and rastas?? What about Jeff noon's Vurt - the ideas of the different games and skills, getting stuck in the vurt (the matrix). Not even mentioning Phillip K Dick. Although the first time many of these ideas have got mainstream exposure, though slightly mutated, I think it's a bit much to credit them to the film makers. What was good was the revolutionary camera techniques, i.e. the ability to fully animate real footage, slow it down speed it up, add bits with no loss of quality - just think of the possibilites!
This movie breaks all pre-concieved boundaries of human existance on the way we view reality. I guess that is why i love it so much!!!
I thank you all for the kind jestures and thoughts. i feel i did well with the movie
I loved the movie!
I finally saw the matrix, on TV...what a great movie....only one problem I didn't watch it when it was on at the cinema...
Aaliyah was supposed to be in Matrix 2. Gorgeous lady, sexy singer, aspiring actress, shoot, such a loss. Does anybody know if she finished filming the sequel? Ahhh, I miss her...
Its my understanding she hadn't been in scene one yet. However, Queen of the was done with photography (its in post production), so we will see her in that.
I happen to adore The Matrix.
Saw it last night and AI thought it was cool. I look foward to Reloaded.
Don't get your hopes up to high for Reloaded. I suggest just skipping it and going, maybe, to Revolutions. Reloaded, in my opinion, is simply a watse of time. But, to each his own.
