I was surprised with just how good this film is, and also how simplistic its plot, as I watched it on tv last night. I missed the first 30 minutes, but I enjoyed the rest. Somehow, I missed actually why the big black man with the powers (whatever his name is) killed that child whose parents show up at the end to watch the big-hearted lug fry. Could anyone tell me why he did it? (I assume he had reason.) But I really liked this film! When that mouse got healed, though, I wasn't sure to laugh or cry..

He didn't kill them. He touched the one homicidal guy and found out that he killed them. He runs to where the bodies are and finds them dead. He grabs them and holds them and tries to heal them but funds that he can't. The cops show up and think that he just killed him and arrested him.

I really, really enjoyed this film :)

I totally fell for the second lead actors characters, the Black man with the powers :)

Such a moving film really.... and I truly hated that bully that wet himself when the other nasty prisoner managed to get ahold of him. That dude who didn't wet the sponge - what a meany he was grrrr

Regards Hyperion

I think that everybody hated him.

Here's an interesting bit of trivia. The black man, I'm sorry but I don't remember his name, has the innitials of J.C... and he died for a crime he didn't commit.

Hmmmm... It sounds so familiar but I can't quite place it!

LOL

John Correy was the character's name, if memory serves me correctly.

And I think I may also know why the story seems familiar...

Why apologise? I don't get that social insecurity. No offence, but I just don't see the problem with it. If I hung out in a black community, I'd expect people to prefer to me as "that White Guy" or something..
