Scifi and Fantasy Forum: Movies: Hell Boy
Hell BoyWe have moved to new forum software and posting here is closed!
Hell Boy, oh boy. Where to begin? I just watched it. I thought the lead acting was good, and the story was alight. It was visually clever, but otherwise I thought that it was a boring, stupid waste of time. The main character Hell Boy seems an interesting one, however, like his girlfriend. Maybe I'll read the comic book sometime.
I didn't see it. It looks like a fun "popcorn" movie. You know what I meen. I plan on seeing it, but haven't for one reason or another yet.
Its a FUN fantasy film for all the family, I enjoyed it as a film of that class.
I agree with Neuro. The writing was just terrible. Visually interesting. Good, creative character design. But the characters were presented very one-dimensionally. The plot was poorly developed. I've heard wonderful things about the comic, so I'll probably try to read some of that at some point. But I would never recommend this film.
So let me get this strait:
lol i liked this movie, ive never read the comics, but i liked the love story(im a mushy freak, sue me) and the special effects were preety good.(plus the evil nazi machine guy really scared my sisters and kind freaked even me out).i thought that the character devolpment on hellboy was really good (his thing for cats and pancakes especially). plus david hyde pierce was in it, and he's awesome(sorry if i spelled it wrong).
The visual effects in the movie was so fine. It's a "get on with the action, forget the autobiography about Hellboy. I aint no bl@@dy bookworm" kind of movie. Many kinds of weird mutants in the movie kept me awake from start to finish. It would be extra-fine if there was a camera merry-go-round for 3D visual effects like the Matrix.
