There's always some special, extended, director's cut or otherwise remastered version that studios come out with. The first version will usually not have so many features or "specials" to it, and will liekly cost50-100% more then what you'll get later editions for.

My advice:

If you want "Super Special" versions of it, wait for later.

If you want it right away, buy it at Best Buy, for they have the greatest prices that you could ask for, concerning DVD's at least. Crappy return policies, but awsome prices!

I believe the PoA version that is coming out next Tuesday, is the same level as Special Editions of the first two. I believe the intital releases of the first two were single disk, and the Special Edition releases were 2 disks. PoA is two disk, and the 3 movie box set pack being released at the same time, I believe is the Special Edition of the first two, and the same PoA that is being released at the same time.

And as previously stated, yes the almighty quest for profit most likely dictates there will be a more special release at a later date.

I watched Disk 2 so far. It is visually interesting but a little disappointing in content. There are a couple games, at least one of which is for CD-ROM. I was hoping for more cut scenes. The extra scenes in the first movie were helpful in clarifying some points, but I didn't find that the extra scenes in the POA DVD were very informative. It was interesting to see how the hippogrif was made and about the animals.

I've been a bit dissapointed with the special features on the other to movies. I haven't seen them for this one, however. Hopefully it will be better then the other two.
