I just went and saw this tonight. I liked it alot. I don't want to ruin too much of it, but let's just say that, yes, it is sci-fi, though trailers depicted it as more of a psychological thriller. (Don't worry, there's plenty of pyschological thriller-ness there if that's your thing.)

My biggest complaint would be that they reused the same footage of her kid getting on the airplane too many times.

I saw it over the weekend. It was an enjoyable film.

Yes, that was a bit overused, but justifiable in the way and context in which they used it. But don't you just love what happened to the cop? I knew something was going to happen, but not that. I was thinking more of a rocket launcher to the back, personally.
