OMG! The Ring is the scariest film I have seen in my life! Who agrees?
It beats any of the classic 18 horrors (The Shining, The Hole, Halloween I, II, and III) It was so disturbing - gave me nightmares ever since.

I kind of agree. It scared me too. For me, the Exorcist is still number one, though. I was actually freaked out a few times during the Ring. Some fast, crazy stuff that they spent a long time perfecting for madness thrown at you in a slit second! Wow! I just kept thinking who could MAKE a film like this? How do they sleep at night? I think it's a great achievment for the horror gendre.

Are you talking about the original Ring films (from Japan)or the new one?

It's news to me. I haven't seen any and don't have much of an incling to. It's not my typical kind of movie.

But I don't know. Should I see it? Is it any good? Either of them?

The Ring, that was released here in the US was based upon a Japanese film Ringu and it's sequel(s?). There is apparently a sequel being worked on to the US Ring, that is not connected to the Japanese sequels, but I believe the Japanese Director will be directing the US sequel.

I hated the Ring. Of course I am not a horror movie buff, but any movie that a group of highschoolers jump at while others laugh at is not really that good. I went to watch it thinking I would have nightmares for a week because one of my friends who literally did said I would be scared. I sat at a desk with two other friends laughing and playing rummy. Personnally I would not recommend it to anyone, but hey if you want a good laugh than go ahead.
