I loved Maximus (Russel Crowe) in Gladiator, and Arthur (Clive Owen), in King Arthur. Oh yea, in The Last Samurai, I loved Katsumoto and Ujio.
Blade Neo Riddick Madmartigan The Terminater
Posted By: manji Aug 28, 2004 - 12:43 pm | | Charles Bronson from Once Upon a Time in the West. "Hit the ground when you hear that noise" WOman- "What noise?" ::HAMMER COCKS. BRONSON throws her to the ground and shoots two men off their horses:: BRONSON- That noise. Man-With-No-Name (Clint Eastwood) FistFul of Dollars, For a few Dollars more, Good the bad and the ugly. MWNN- I'm going to need two coffins. (Shoots three men) MWNM- My mistake. Three coffins. PIKE & BORGNINE (Actors name) from 'THE WILD BUNCH'. PIKE- He gave his word. BORGNINE- He gave his word to a rail road. PIKE- Its still his word! BORGNINE- That's not what counts! It's who you give it to! and, finally, the collest mother on this list . . . MARK from John Woo's 'A BETTER TOMORROW' He walks into a tea house, blows the hell out of everybody who betrayed his best friend and simply walks out. Great movie.

Posted By: manji Aug 29, 2004 - 12:41 pm | | MrB, if you liked that flat as day old soda action movie you'll love A Better Tomorrow. Watch it with Sub-Titles though because otherwise you lose Yun-Fat's terrific acting performance. I didn't like Leslie Cheung's character that much but the man who played his brother (Li Tung, i think?)is the real star and turns a wonderful performance. Now, if you see 'A Better Tomorrow2' first don't base any opinions on the first one based on that. It's melodramatic crap, although a lot easier to find. In 'Replacement Killers' Yun-Fat had not yet mastered the English language so you did not really get a feel for his acting abilities but in HK he is comparable to Clint Eastwood and Carry Grant. Now, if you wanna see a straight up action movie see John Woo's LAST (ABT being his first) Hong Kong action movie 'Hard Boiled'. There is a thirty minute gunfight at the end in a hospital that will send you into orgasmic heaven.

Posted By: manji Aug 30, 2004 - 07:18 am | | Yes, that is it. Like i said, it's a straight up action movie. A Better Tomorrow does something most action movies doesn't though: Makes you care abut the characters. Although, i must admit, i do have a penchant for over the top drama.
Keanu Reeves could fit action hero James Bond after that Matrix series. A martial artist and agent as one. A tsunami box office hit for Reeves.
Posted By: Aldan Dec 04, 2004 - 12:17 pm | | The only problem is that he is the worst actor technique-wise on the planet earth, and so would only hurt the series even more than it was before.
Posted By: Magus Dec 04, 2004 - 05:47 pm | | YES! My family has a saying. It may not be the most poetic, but it is certainly true. Keanu Reeves ruines every movie he's in as soon as he opens his mouth and speaks. He was good in the origional The Matrix, but that was due mostly to him not talking and having to listen the entire movie as everything was explained to him.
Just about every characters mentioned so far would be on my very long list. Here are a few more to add. Corben Dallas from the Fifth Element Captain Douglas Lazarus Horatio Lothar Murk from "Starship X-13, Deep Space Nein!" (Soon to be remade as an Exclusive Digitally Remastered Special Extended Director's Cut Platinum Edition) Alan Grant is cool, though not in the same way as the starter of this thread intended. Prince Colwyn from Krull. He took a Slayer beam to the chest and lived! (This one is actually a joke. This movie is so cheesy. Not that I mind cheesiness.) The Postman was cool too.
Posted By: Pat0214 Dec 28, 2004 - 09:59 am | | Han Solo in episodes 4-5-6 but he's at his best in ESB I find. James Bond either played by Sean Connery or Pierce Brosnam The Grinch as portrayed by Jim Carrey Indiana Jones in any movies or books Wolverine in both X-Men movies The Man With No Name in all 3 movies (Clint Eastwood) The Fifth Element (Leilu Dallas) in the 5th Element
Talon Sinnah: Madmartigan <- from willow ?
Nameless from Hero (he can strike with surgical precision within 10paces) Han Solo if you dont know what im talking about here you truely suck. This guy has balls of freakin steel, to rush blindly after several stormtroopers with just a blaster and a wookie. Forget Luke, Han doesnt need the force hes luck and balls personified! ESB is the greatest Sci-fi movie ever! Dorothy Gale from Wiz of Oz. She goes all the way to Oz to learn a lesson she could have gotten from System of a Down! "You know that every time I try to go where I really wanna be, its already where I am, cause I'm already there!" Your basic story of learning to live with what you got.
Darth vader (star wars 4,5,6) Snails (d&d) Black man in RE apocalypse Harry dun and lloyd christmas (Dumb and dumber) Farva (super troopers)
