I read at entertainmentweekly.com that there is indeed going to be a Gladiator 2. Ridley Scott will return to direct this sequel, without Russell Crowe, of course. It is set 15 years after the first film. No details on the story though. It isn't due for a couple years, and its gonna have some major competition with other ancient time-based films:Troy, Leo Dicaprio's Alexander the Great. Can't wait to find out more.

Hope Gladiator 2 doesn't catch the "bad sequel virus".

Um, forgive me jody, but... I really didn't get the big deal with the Gladiator film. Am I the only one?? I just heard so much hype, and people I know said it was like the best film they had ever seen!! I saw it once (minus the first 30 minutes), and, well, boy was I let down. I thought it was just like a dozen movies I've seen before, only not as good. The acting, directing, and writing all won ewards, right? (Could somone please explain to me one thing: why??}
