Princess Bride was a great example as was the first Neverending Story. Favourite moment... The spaniard says, "Fezzig was on the brute squad" The wierd old alchemist looks up and says, "He IS the brute squad" Second favourite scene. "As... You... Wiiiissssshhhhhh....." Says the dread pirate Roberts while tumbling down a cliff

My next favorite scene was in the Fireswamp when Westley tries to calm Buttercup's fears by describing how they had solved how to deal with the main problems of the Fireswamp. WESTLEY What are the three terrors of the Fire Swamp? One, the flame spurts; no problem -- there is a little popping sound preceding each, we can avoid that. Two, the Lightning Sand, but you were clever enough to discover what it looks like so in the future, we can avoid that too. BUTTERCUP What about the R.O.U.S.'s, Westley? WESTLEY The Rodents of Unusual Size? I don't think they exist -- And as he says that, a R.0.U.S. comes flying at him.

Posted By: Daelish Jul 05, 2003 - 06:20 am | | Evil little smart guy: "Stop that, and I mean it!" Andre: "Anybody want a peanut?" Evil little smart guy: "AAUUGGHHH"
Posted By: ent_boy Oct 27, 2004 - 03:21 am | | I would just like to know what everyone thinks of The Princess Bride i absoloutly LOVED it it was such a spoof!! and the ROUS ha so funny. Vicini "Inconceivable" Inigo "You seem to use that word a lot, i do not think it means what you thinks it means" and billy crystal what a hoot i watch this as often as possible. I dont look for any deep and meaningful issues within in it i watch it for pure entertainment value. So please did you like it? or not? what did you like best and is it a movie you could watch over and over? Namaarie

Posted By: Bmat Oct 27, 2004 - 03:44 pm | | How about the line: "He's only mostly dead."
Posted By: Kevin Oct 27, 2004 - 04:27 pm | | That's our family favourite, though the whole movie is our favourite, save perhaps LOTR, and save my aunt, who's Australian and takes offense to the statement that all Aussies are criminals, of course the rest of us just laugh. She's learning though.
Posted By: Aldan Oct 27, 2004 - 06:20 pm | | That is one dvd that I own, and if you haven't seen it, you have no idea of the quality of comedy that you are missing! One of my favorite parts is when Wesley first awakens in the "Pit of Despair" and encounters The Albino... Wesley: Where am I? Albino: *In a raspy, hissing, high-pitched voice* The Pit of Despair. Don't even... *clears throat and then continues on in a much deeper and very conversational British voice* Don't even think of trying to escape... When I first saw the movie, I laughed out loud when that happened, since he was a perfect "big Igor" up until he cleared his throat. Kevin, your aunt takes offense to people calling Aussies criminals? It was an almost complete historical fact back in the 1800s, since IT WAS SETTLED AS A COLONY FOR THE UNDESIRABLES OF GREAT BRITAIN, AND AT THAT TIME, THOSE UNDESIRABLES WERE CONSIDERED CRIMINALS (and many of them actually were). That's like Norwegians taking offense at people calling them Vikings, since those were also considered hoodlums by the rest of the world when they were doing all of their raiding.
Posted By: Kevin Oct 27, 2004 - 09:18 pm | | It's not that she takes it as a serious offense, she just doesn't like being implied a criminal, but hey, them crazy Aussies eh? PS, they weren't all from Britain, they were mostly the ones who simply opposed the British way of running things. In British North America (Canada) many were deported after the rebellion of 1837, but seeing as the rest of this story takes place in an imaginary land, it doesn't make much sense that they would have references to our world. PPS, A while ago I looked into my geneology and found that I AM a descendant of Vikings, and I find it cool, not at all offensive.
Posted By: Pat0214 Nov 02, 2004 - 10:44 am | | My favorite scene is when Inigo and Feezek bring Wesley to Miracle Max and he is examining him after Welsey as been kill. Miracle Max raises Wesley's arm and let's it fall back down, then look at Inigo and Feezek and in a very serious tone say "I've seen worst" I think only Billy Cristal could have played Miracle max
My favorite line is close to the beginning when the grandpa is talking about how sad Buttercup was when Westley left, and then he says that his ship was attacked by the Dread Pirate Roberts, who never left anyone alive. The kid enthusiastically says, "murdered by pirates is good." It's so cool, because the actors in the story are being serious and emotional and this kid just says something like that.
