I am looking for good downloadable clips on Bladerunner. I have searched so many sites my head is spinning. In particular a clip with or without the voice-over of Harrison Ford, the scene where Rutger Hauer(Roy Batty) is sitting in front of Harrison Ford(Deckard) on the roof and dies. I have seen a bunch of other clips but not that one. Also the beginning scene of the city scape. Any help in locating some serious clips of this movie would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Are you talking about the scene where Roy, the former leader and sole survivor of a gang of advanced nexus-6 generation replicants returning to Earth in a desperate search for life extension, and after having saved Deckard from falling to his death from high atop the Tyrell Corp. building, says to him:

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
C-beams glittering in the dark by the Tannhauser Gate.
All those moments will be lost in time,
like tears in rain."

I have it memorized because for me this Scott Ridley masterpiece contains one of the best scenes of all science fiction movies ever made.

If you have no luck finding an on-line source for your clip of interest then I suggest that you play it on your computers DVD drive and if you have an LCD monitor you can record the scene using a mini-DV camcorder or equivalent. Then just download from your camcorder to your hard drive as an mpeg file. If I have the time I might even try this and make it available somewhere on this site if allowed.

I fell asleep during it, one of the few movies I have ever fell asleep during (Honey I Blew up the Baby and Ali). So I can't really say much on the topic. I do plan on watching it again, some day.

Brain lapse, brain lapse!! Danger young Will...

Actually I wasn't thinking when I said I would post such a clip! I wouldn't. I do not think this is legal nor should it be.

While I think the technique I suggested will work, probably it's only legal to make such a reproduction when it is for private self use and it must be done using a DVD you have already purchased from a reputable outlet. It is most probably illegal to distribute such movie clips and I would dissuade anyone from doing so.

Whew!

I just put the followung review on Amazon.ca so tell me what you think. As is I'm a professional! lol.

DO PRODUCERS DREAM OF ELECTRIC SHEEP?

Reviewer: neurosky from Canada

The Director's Cut is a masterpiece all the way. Only people who either lack inelegance or have no patience could deny that. Directed by Ridley Scot ( "Alien" ), and based on the classic Sci-fi novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" by the brilliant and paranoid Philip K. Dick. (Other films based on his works include "Total Recall", "Screamers", and "Minority Report".) Harrison Ford stars as a Blade Runner -- a special undercover cop whose job it is to hunt down Replicants -- human-like androids -- and kill them. Only it's not called murdering, it's called "retiring".

Scot is a brilliant filmmaker, and you can truly see his vision with this one. But shamefully the executive producers took over, gave it a ridiculously optimistic ending and got Ford to do a voice-over to better explain what's going on to the idiot viewers. There's not much to it -- he hunts them down and kills them. Not hard to follow. The central character wonders if he might be an android too, and you never really find out, or do you? Anyway, Ford intentionally did a voice-over so bad that he told Scot the producers would never use it. Guess what? They did! That has forever remained a prime example of the poor taste of producers. But then comes the Director's Cut, giving it a darker ending that suits the story, removing the terrible voice-over, adding in a little previously edited material, and taking it to wide screen. Fans of this cult classic, like myself, can breathe more easily because of it.

MIGHT YOU LIKE IT?

If you like Sci-fi or dark dramas then I don't see why not. It remains a landmark in filmmaking, signally the high point for the Cyber Punk phase of the 70's and 80's. Frankly, it doesn't get any better. Realistic, gritty, sharp, satirical, and visually and musically brilliant. Yep. This is the best.

Its cast was quite good as well: Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, Edward James Olmos and that actress that was the mermaid in Splash (sorry I can't remember it, but I believe that this was her first major film).

What I don't understand is why Harrison Ford hated the movie, even after it's completion, he still says it's some of his worst work ever...

I know he had troubles with the director during filming, BUT how can he say it's rubbish work after it's completion ??

The film is a legend..

Yeah I know. I think it's his best acting performance. I can't think of a better one. Obviously something. Maybe its mixed reviews and success embarrest the big actor.
